How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

East Central University asks international applicants for official, original transcripts from secondary school and every college attended, translated into English and showing all courses, terms and grades; it does not say who must translate.

East Central University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

ECU names no evaluation for admission and only suggests WES or another NACES member to speed up course substitutions, which we do not provide.

ECU at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

ECU's international packet says the official transcript must be translated into English and does not restrict who translates (international application packet); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Worth knowing about ECU

Courses, terms, grades

All must appear in the translation.

May 1

Fall goal; November 1 for spring.

Funds in English

Proof of funds documents translated too.

ECU requirements in detail

Translation

The official transcript must be translated into English and show all courses taken, all terms attended and all grades received (International student application packet).

Who may translate

Secondary records

Must show the date of completion or graduation (International student application packet).

Evaluation

None for admission. Course substitutions are reviewed after 12 credit hours at ECU; WES or another NACES member can speed that up (International student application packet).

Official documents

Sealed envelopes received directly from the school, an evaluation company or a bank, or emails from the source's administrator (International student application packet).

Deadlines

Admission completion goal May 1 for fall, November 1 for spring; $75 application fee (International student application packet).

A complete transcript, in English

ECU spells out what the translated transcript must show: every course, every term attended and every grade, and for secondary school the completion or graduation date (International student application packet).

Translate the full record, including pages that list terms or grading, not only the summary. State law requires you to list every university attended on the application, so translate each one's transcript.

Funds, Nepal and later credit

The supporting documents for proof of guaranteed funds must also be translated into English (International student application packet). Nepali students have their transcripts attested by USEF Nepal before arrival.

Credit for courses taken abroad comes later: after 12 credit hours at ECU you submit course descriptions, and an evaluation from WES, which wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator, or another NACES member can speed it up.

Need a certified translation for ECU?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Secondary school transcripts, with completion date
  • College or university transcripts
  • Bank statements and sponsor documents
  • Course descriptions, for later course substitution

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to ECU

  • Send the official transcripts with their English translations as the packet describes, and upload your application online (International student application packet).

  • We can send the translation directly to the admissions office by email on request.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does East Central University accept an eVerbary translation?

ECU asks for the official transcript translated into English and does not say who must translate (International student application packet); a certified translation from a professional service qualifies.

Do I need a credential evaluation for ECU?

Not for admission; WES or another NACES member is suggested only to speed up course substitutions (International student application packet).

Do my bank documents need translating?

Yes, proof of funds documents must be translated into English (International student application packet).

What is different for students from Nepal?

Transcripts must be attested by USEF Nepal in Kathmandu before arrival (International student application packet).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
