Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from Donnelly's public pages (sources).

Donnelly College does not accept F-1 students, but students who graduated from an international high school must have the transcript or diploma evaluated document by document by a NACES or AICE member, sent directly to the Registrar, and college work from abroad is credited only through a NACES evaluation.

Donnelly's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF (all NACES members), accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You translate first and send the translation to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not produce.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
  • The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
  • Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
  • The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Donnelly requirements in detail

Translation

Donnelly states no rule of its own; the foreign record reaches it through the evaluation (Catalog 2026-27: general enrollment procedures).

Who may translate

Set by the evaluation agency (see below).

High school from abroad

Transcript and/or diploma evaluated by an approved service, document by document, meeting US high school equivalency; the student pays (Catalog 2026-27: general enrollment procedures).

Agencies

A current NACES or AICE member (Catalog 2026-27: general enrollment procedures).

Delivery

Sent directly from the evaluator to the Registrar's Office through a secure service (Catalog 2026-27: general enrollment procedures).

College credit

International transcripts are reviewed only after a current NACES member has evaluated them; grades of C (2.0) or higher (credit transfer).

Visa

Donnelly does not accept F-1 students (visas).

A foreign diploma at Donnelly

Donnelly does not accept F-1 students (Catalog 2026-27: visas).

A student who finished high school in another country still has to prove US high school equivalency: the transcript or diploma must be evaluated by a NACES or AICE member, in a document-by-document report, and sent by the evaluator to the Registrar (Catalog 2026-27: general enrollment procedures).

Unofficial transcripts are accepted to enroll, but the official record must be in by the first day of class, or the student is dropped after the add/drop period (Catalog 2026-27: general enrollment procedures). Order the translation as soon as you apply.

For college credit earned abroad, Donnelly reviews international transcripts only after a NACES member has evaluated them, and accepts only courses with a C (2.0) or higher; coursework older than eight years may not apply (Catalog 2026-27: credit transfer evaluation).

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not translate.

ECE accepts complete, literal translations, including your own, or translates internally for its report if you buy an $85 Translation Waiver, with no translation delivered to you.

IERF asks for typed, word-for-word, line-by-line translations and may require a professional one. A certified translation from eVerbary meets all three rules (see high school diploma translation).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Donnelly that means we translate your diploma and transcripts; the document-by-document evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES or AICE member.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

I finished high school in another country. What does Donnelly need?

A document-by-document evaluation of your transcript or diploma by a NACES or AICE member, sent to the Registrar (Catalog 2026-27: general enrollment procedures).

Does Donnelly accept F-1 students?

No (Catalog 2026-27: visas).

Which agency should I use?

Any current NACES or AICE member for high school; NACES for college credit (Catalog 2026-27: general enrollment procedures). WES, ECE and IERF are NACES members.

Can I start classes before the evaluation arrives?

You can enroll with unofficial transcripts, but official ones are due by the first day of class (Catalog 2026-27: general enrollment procedures).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
