Requirements checked on October 27, 2026 from Delta State's public pages (sources).
Delta State University asks international applicants for an official, complete evaluation from SpanTran (now TEC), WES or ECE for each non-US school attended, sent directly to International Student Services: a general evaluation with GPA for high school and a course-by-course evaluation for university records.
Delta State's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your records; the evaluation itself is not something we provide.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
- Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
- Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
- Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

Delta State requirements in detail
Translation
Delta State states no translation rule of its own; non-US records reach it through the evaluation (International admissions). The agency needs the translation before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the agency: WES wants a professional translator; ECE accepts a literal translation, even your own; TEC an ATA-certified one.
Evaluation
Official, complete evaluation from SpanTran (now TEC), WES or ECE for each non-US school, sent directly to International Student Services (International admissions).
Report type
High school: general analysis with GPA (TEC) or general with grade average (WES, ECE). University: course-by-course (International admissions).
TEC detail
TEC can evaluate multiple credentials under the same evaluation at no additional cost (International admissions).
Deadlines
Fall: application June 1, documents July 1. Spring: application October 15, documents November 15 (International admissions).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
Delta State accepts three agencies, and each sets its own translation rule.
WES asks for an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency, and does not accept translations by applicants.
ECE asks for complete, literal, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original and lets applicants prepare them; for $85 it sells a Translation Waiver, under which it translates internally for the report and no translation is delivered to you.
The Evaluation Company, formerly SpanTran, requires an outside translator certified by the American Translators Association, or translates in-house once your application is complete.
If you choose TEC, eVerbary can assign a translator individually certified by ATA for the languages ATA certifies: ask for a free quote and say it is for TEC and Delta State.
Which report to order, and when
Order a general evaluation with GPA or grade average for high school records, and a course-by-course evaluation for any university abroad; one evaluation per non-US school, sent by the agency to International Student Services (International admissions).
Delta State separates the application deadline from the documentation deadline: June 1 and July 1 for fall, October 15 and November 15 for spring.
Translation and evaluation both need to be done before the documentation date, so start with the translation. Only "traditional programs" at the graduate level qualify for an F-1 visa.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Delta State
The translation goes to TEC, WES or ECE with your records; the agency sends the evaluation directly to Delta State International Student Services (International admissions).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Delta State, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Delta State that means we translate your records for the agency; the TEC, WES or ECE evaluation is ordered by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Which evaluation agencies does Delta State accept?
SpanTran (now TEC), WES or ECE (International admissions).
What type of evaluation do I need for my high school transcript?
A general evaluation with GPA or grade average; university records need course-by-course (International admissions).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for TEC?
Yes, on request through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page). ATA certifies no other languages into English.
What are the deadlines?
Fall: June 1 to apply and July 1 for documents; spring: October 15 and November 15 (International admissions).
