How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Cuyahoga Community College asks for foreign high school transcripts and diplomas in the original language with an official English translation, and its Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Form says the translation must come from an official translation service, on business letterhead, with a notarized translator's statement.
Cuyahoga Community College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; add notarization at checkout for $34.90 per order.
Tri-C evaluates the high school record itself; only foreign college credit needs a NACES course-by-course evaluation, which we do not provide.
Tri-C at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Tri-C's evaluation form requires the translation to be made by an authorized, certifying official at an official translation service, on business letterhead, with the translator's statement notarized (evaluation form), and the F-1 checklist asks for an officially translated English version (F-1 checklist); a notarized certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Tri-C requirements in detail
Translation
High school transcripts and diplomas in the original language, with an officially translated English version (Requirements to apply to Tri-C (F-1 checklist)).
Who may translate
An authorized, certifying official at an official translation service (Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Request Form (PDF)).
Form of the translation
On official business letterhead, not plain computer paper, with a translator's statement of a true and faithful translation, notarized (Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Request Form (PDF)).
High school evaluation
Done by Tri-C: the Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Form goes with copies of the transcript and diploma; allow three weeks, results by mail (Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Request Form (PDF)).
Foreign college credit
Optional, for transfer credit only: a NACES course-by-course evaluation, sent by the agency to the Office of the Registrar; allow four to six weeks (Requirements to apply to Tri-C (F-1 checklist)).
Bank documents
In English or with an official translation; originals by FedEx, DHL or UPS, never scanned (FAQ).
Where to send (F-1)
PDF scans to internationalapplications@tri-c.edu or the campus international advisor (Requirements to apply to Tri-C (F-1 checklist)).
Deadlines (F-1)
Spring 2027: November 20 for new, overseas and change-of-status applicants, December 18 for transfers; processing up to three weeks (Requirements to apply to Tri-C (F-1 checklist)).
The evaluation form sets the stricter rule
The F-1 checklist only asks for an "officially translated English version" of every transcript and diploma (F-1 checklist).
The Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Form that goes with them is more precise: the transcript, the diploma and, if your transcript shows a maiden or former name, your marriage certificate must be translated by an authorized, certifying official at an official translation service, on business letterhead; translations on plain computer paper are not acceptable; and the translator's statement of a true and faithful translation must appear on or with the translation and be notarized (evaluation form).
The form is dated 2011 and the checklist is current; follow the stricter one.
eVerbary's certificate of accuracy is signed on letterhead; add notarization at checkout so the statement is notarized. The form prints the exact sentence it expects, so if you want that wording on the certificate, ask for a free quote and write it in the notes.
Residents and immigrants: Tri-C reads the diploma itself
The same form is the route for anyone with a foreign high school record, not only F-1 students: the Transcripts page sends students who need a foreign high school transcript evaluated to it (transcripts), and the page for permanent residents, refugees, asylees and other visa holders points to the Transcripts page for prior records (residents and other visa holders).
You attach legible copies in the original language, the country, the language of the transcript and your graduation date, and submit everything to an Enrollment Center; the request cannot be processed until every applicable document and translation is attached (Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Request Form (PDF)). See high school diploma translation.
Because Tri-C does this evaluation itself, you do not pay an agency for your high school record.
An agency report is needed only if you want credit for university courses taken abroad: a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, sent by the agency directly to the Office of the Registrar, which does not guarantee equivalency (Requirements to apply to Tri-C (F-1 checklist)).
Agencies set their own translation rules; see translation for credential evaluation.
Need a certified translation for Tri-C?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school transcript with all courses and grades
- High school diploma or certificate
- Marriage certificate, if the transcript shows a maiden or former name
- Bank letter or statement, if not in English
- University transcripts, for the agency, if you want transfer credit
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Tri-C
F-1 applicants scan and email the evaluation form, the copies of the transcript and diploma and their translations as PDFs to internationalapplications@tri-c.edu; original bank documents are mailed to the campus by courier (Requirements to apply to Tri-C (F-1 checklist)).
Other students hand the form and documents to an Enrollment Center (Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Request Form (PDF)).
eVerbary delivers a signed PDF and, when notarization is added, the notarized copy; we can also email the translation directly to the admissions office on request.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Tri-C that means we translate and notarize your high school records and certificates; the NACES course-by-course evaluation for foreign college credit is ordered by you from an agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Tri-C need a notarized translation?
Yes. Its evaluation form asks for the translator's statement to be notarized and the translation to be on business letterhead (Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Request Form (PDF)). eVerbary adds notarization for $34.90 per order.
Can a friend or I translate my diploma for Tri-C?
No. The form requires an authorized, certifying official at an official translation service (Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Request Form (PDF)).
Do I need WES or another agency for my foreign high school diploma?
No. Tri-C evaluates foreign high school transcripts itself with the Foreign High School Transcript Evaluation Form (Transcripts).
How do I get credit for university courses taken abroad?
Request a NACES course-by-course evaluation and have the agency send it to the Office of the Registrar; it takes four to six weeks and you pay for it (Requirements to apply to Tri-C (F-1 checklist)).
Does my bank statement need a translation?
Yes, if it is not in English: an official translation (Frequently asked questions by international students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
