Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from CBS's public pages (sources).
College of Biblical Studies-Houston (CBS) publishes no translation rule of its own: college courses taken outside the US must be evaluated, international transfer students need a course evaluation by a NACES agency before admission, and international applicants under 18 prove high school equivalency through a NACES evaluation.
CBS's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE (NACES members), accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You translate first and send the translation to the agency; the evaluation itself is not something we provide.
CBS at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
CBS asks international transfer students for a course evaluation by a NACES agency (catalog), and WES, a NACES member, accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES translation rules); ECE does as well. Policy checked on October 28, 2026.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.
Worth knowing about CBS
NACES evaluation
Before admission, for international transfers.
Under 18
High school equivalency evaluation.
Spanish programs
Same rule in the Spanish catalog.
CBS requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; the agency needs the translation before it can evaluate a record not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the agency: WES and ECE accept professional translations; TEC (SpanTran) only ATA-certified translators.
College courses abroad
Evaluated through an approved "translation center" such as SpanTran or Global Translators (catalog; Spanish catalog).
International transfers
Transcript course evaluation by a NACES agency before admission (CBS Academic Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Under 18
Proof of US high school equivalency through a NACES agency evaluation (CBS Academic Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF); international students).
Freshmen
High school diploma with an institutional seal and/or signature; any international student may be asked for an evaluation after review (CBS Academic Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
F-1 deadlines
July 15 for fall, December 15 for spring (International students).
Where the catalog uses two names for the evaluator
CBS's general admission steps say college courses taken outside the US "must be evaluated through an approved translation center", with SpanTran and Global Translators as examples, and its Spanish-language catalog says the same (catalog; catálogo).
The international section of the same catalog asks transfer students for a transcript course evaluation by a NACES evaluation agency before admission, and asks applicants under 18 for a NACES evaluation showing US high school equivalency; any international student may be asked for a credential or course evaluation after CBS reviews the documents.
Both routes end in an evaluation report that rests on an English version of your records. Ask the Office of Admissions which agency it will accept before ordering, and send the agency your certified translation.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept your own.
ECE accepts complete, literal translations, including yours, or sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally for the report.
SpanTran (TEC) accepts outside translations only from translators certified by ATA, or translates in-house; eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request through a free quote that mentions SpanTran and CBS. Global Translators does not appear in the sources we read.
Need a certified translation for CBS?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- College transcripts from abroad
- High school diploma with seal or signature
- Degree certificates
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to CBS
Send the translation with your records to the evaluation agency; official transcripts go to College of Biblical Studies, Attn: Office of Admissions, 7000 Regency Square Blvd., Houston, TX 77036, or electronically to admissions@cbshouston.edu (CBS Academic Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)). F-1 documents go to the PDSO or DSO (International students).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for CBS, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For CBS that means we translate your transcripts and diplomas for the agency; the NACES or translation-center evaluation is ordered by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does CBS require a credential evaluation?
For college courses taken outside the US, and for international transfer students before admission, yes (CBS Academic Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Which agency does CBS accept?
The catalog names SpanTran and Global Translators as examples and asks international transfers for a NACES agency (CBS Academic Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Can I use an eVerbary translation?
Yes, with WES or ECE, NACES members that accept professional translations (WES, ECE).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for SpanTran?
Yes. TEC (SpanTran) requires outside translators certified by ATA (TEC); ask for a free quote, mention SpanTran and CBS, and we assign one. ATA certifies only some languages into English.
When are the F-1 deadlines?
July 15 for fall and December 15 for spring (International students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
