How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Clarkson's international requirements say all transcripts in languages other than English should be translated, and they do not say who must translate or ask for a credential evaluation.

Clarkson University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

First-year applicants also send their school-leaving exam result reports, and transfers send course descriptions for colleges outside New York State; translating course descriptions is something we do, but choosing which credits transfer is Clarkson's decision.

Clarkson at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Clarkson's international admissions requirements say transcripts in languages other than English "should be translated" and do not restrict who translates (international requirements); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Clarkson reads your records directly

Unlike many universities, Clarkson asks for no credential evaluation: admissions works from your own transcripts, mark sheets and exam results, and asks that anything not in English be translated (International admissions requirements).

That makes the translation the document admissions actually reads, so it should reproduce every subject, mark and grading legend exactly as on the original.

School-leaving exams matter. If you have finished secondary school, Clarkson requires the exam results, naming WASSCE, CAPE, A-levels and Grade 12 board results, and IB or A-level results also waive English testing (International admissions requirements).

Transfers: transcripts and course descriptions

International transfers send official transcripts from every college, plus course descriptions if a college is outside New York State, and a final high school transcript; with fewer than 24 credits, the full high school record counts in the decision (International admissions requirements).

Course descriptions in another language are what lets Clarkson match your courses, so translate them along with the transcript. Transfer admission is rolling.

Uploading the translation to Clarkson

  • Apply with the Clarkson application or the Common App, then upload the records and their translations in the admission portal checklist (International admissions requirements). Graduate applicants send transcripts with the graduate application.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Clarkson that means we translate your transcripts, exam results and course descriptions; we do not decide or estimate which credits transfer.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Clarkson accept a translation from a translation company?

Clarkson asks for transcripts to be translated and does not say who must translate (International admissions requirements). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.

Do I need a WES or ECE evaluation for Clarkson?

No evaluation is required on the international requirements page (International admissions requirements).

Do I need to send my national exam results?

Yes, if you have taken them: Clarkson requires school-leaving exam results such as WASSCE, CAPE or A-levels (International admissions requirements).

Should transfers translate course descriptions?

Clarkson asks for course descriptions from colleges outside New York State (International admissions requirements); if they are not in English, translating them lets admissions read them.

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
