Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from Catholic International's public pages (sources).
Catholic International University, a fully online Catholic university, requires applicants who attended schools outside the US to send a transcript evaluation from a NACES member, including degree equivalency, overall GPA and an English translation of the diploma and grade records not in English.
Catholic International's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency, which evaluates and reports to Admissions; the evaluation itself is not something we provide.
Catholic International at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Catholic International asks for an evaluation from a NACES member that includes an English translation of your documents (catalog), and WES, a NACES member, accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES translation rules); ECE does as well. Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Catholic International requirements in detail
Translation
The evaluation must include an English translation of documents not in English, including the diploma and grade records (Catholic International University catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency. WES and ECE accept professional translations; TEC only ATA-certified translators.
Evaluation
From any NACES member, with degree equivalency and overall GPA, sent to Admissions; TEC recommended with a custom discounted application (Catholic International University catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Why
Required by accreditation to document US equivalency for entry (Catholic International University catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Graduate
An official transcript in an envelope sealed by the institution, and an English evaluation, not just a translation (International students).
Timing
Evaluations often take several weeks; start right away (Catholic International University catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
English
Not needed to start Spanish-taught courses; required before English-taught ones (TOEFL iBT 72 before 2026, IELTS 5.5) (Catholic International University catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
An evaluation that carries the translation
Catholic International's catalog is specific about what the report must contain.
Because its accreditation requires proof of US equivalency, applicants who attended schools outside the US need a transcript evaluation sent to Admissions by a NACES member, and "the evaluation must include degree equivalency and overall GPA and an English translation" of documents not in English, the diploma and grade records included (catalog).
You may use any NACES agency; The Evaluation Company (TEC) is recommended and offers a discounted custom application.
The international page puts it the other way round: graduate applicants need an English evaluation, "not just a translation", because the evaluation states the quality of the school, the equivalency of the coursework and a US grade equivalent (international students).
So plan for both: a translation the agency accepts, and the agency's report built on it.
Spanish-taught courses do not change the document rule
The university offers courses in Spanish as well as in English, and students may begin Spanish-taught courses without proving English proficiency (catalog).
The evaluation rule has no such exception: records from Mexico, Colombia or any Spanish-speaking country still need an English translation inside the NACES report.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept your own.
ECE accepts complete, literal translations, including yours, or sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally for the report.
TEC, the recommended agency, accepts outside translations only from translators certified by ATA, or translates in-house; eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request through a free quote that mentions TEC and Catholic International.
Need a certified translation for Catholic International?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school diploma and grade records (undergraduate)
- University diploma and transcripts (graduate)
- Grading scale or legend printed on the records
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Catholic International
Send the translation with your documents to the NACES agency; the agency sends the evaluation, with the English translation included, to the Admissions Office (Catholic International University catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)). Questions go to admissions@catholiciu.edu.
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Catholic International, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Catholic International that means we translate your diploma and grade records for the agency; the NACES evaluation with degree equivalency and GPA is ordered by you from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Catholic International University require a credential evaluation?
Yes, from a NACES member, with degree equivalency and overall GPA, for any schooling outside the US (Catholic International University catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Is a translation enough without an evaluation?
No. The university asks for an evaluation, not just a translation (International students).
I will study in Spanish. Do my Spanish documents need translation?
Yes. The evaluation must include an English translation of documents not in English (Catholic International University catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for TEC?
Yes. TEC requires outside translators certified by ATA (TEC); ask for a free quote, mention TEC and Catholic International, and we assign one. ATA certifies only some languages into English.
How long does the evaluation take?
Often several weeks, so start right away (Catholic International University catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
