How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
California Baptist University says all academic records must be accompanied by a certified English translation, for undergraduate and graduate applicants alike, and recommends a translation company without requiring it; the transcripts themselves must reach CBU directly from the school.
California Baptist University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Some graduate programs, such as nursing or architecture, may also ask for a course-by-course evaluation from IEE, which we do not produce.
CBU at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
CBU's international pages say "All records must be accompanied by a certified English translation" and recommend a professional translation company (undergraduate, graduate), so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. CBU requirements in detail
Translation
All records accompanied by a certified English translation, undergraduate and graduate (undergraduate, graduate).
Who may translate
A certified translator or translation company; CBU recommends one but does not require it.
Records (undergraduate)
Sealed secondary records: transcripts, mark sheets, grade reports and graduation or completion certificates, with dates, courses and grades; transfer applicants add all college transcripts (International undergraduate applicants).
Official delivery
Directly from the institution, sealed or electronically; anything from a third party, including you, is unofficial (International undergraduate applicants).
Evaluation
Not required in general; some graduate programs, such as nursing or architecture, may require a course-by-course evaluation, and CBU recommends IEE (International graduate applicants).
Deadlines (undergraduate)
July 1 for fall, November 1 for spring (International undergraduate applicants).
Transfer preview
An unofficial transcript evaluation by the registrar within 5 business days, before you apply (Transfer to CBU: unofficial transcript evaluation).
What CBU asks for, and from whom
For undergraduates, CBU wants the official sealed copies of every secondary school record, which it spells out as transcripts, mark sheets, grade reports, graduation certificates, diplomas or completion certificates, showing dates of attendance, courses and grades.
Transfer applicants send all college transcripts too. The undergraduate page then adds that all records must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
Graduate applicants send official sealed transcripts from their college or university, reflecting a completed or in-progress degree, under the same translation rule (graduate page).
The records must come from the school: CBU treats transcripts received from any third party, including the applicant, as unofficial.
The translation is a separate document; eVerbary can send it directly to the International Admissions Office by email on request, so it arrives alongside the school's envelope. For the school record, see high school diploma translation.
Graduate programs that also want an evaluation
Most CBU graduate programs read the translated transcript themselves, but some, such as nursing or architecture, may require a course-by-course evaluation from an evaluation company, and CBU recommends International Education Evaluators (International graduate applicants).
IEE asks for translations by a certified translator, not by the applicant or a notary, so the same certified translation can go to IEE.
Transfer students can ask CBU's registrar for an unofficial evaluation of their college transcripts before applying; the admissions counselor sends the result within five business days (Transfer to CBU: unofficial transcript evaluation).

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to CBU
Your school sends the sealed or electronic records to CBU's International Admissions Office; electronic transcripts go to the international admissions email (International graduate applicants). Send the certified translation to the same office, or ask us to email it there directly.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For CBU that means we translate your records; the school must still send its official transcripts, and an IEE evaluation, if your program asks for one, is ordered by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does CBU require certified translations?
Yes. All records must be accompanied by a certified English translation (International undergraduate applicants).
Do I have to use the translation company CBU recommends?
No. CBU recommends one company, with a discount, but its rule only asks for a certified English translation (International undergraduate applicants).
Can I send my own copies of my transcripts?
No. Transcripts must come directly from the institution; copies from applicants are unofficial (International undergraduate applicants).
Do graduate applicants need a credential evaluation?
Only some programs, such as nursing or architecture; CBU recommends IEE (International graduate applicants).
When is the fall deadline?
July 1 for undergraduates, with every document (International undergraduate applicants).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
