Requirements checked on October 27, 2026 from CSUCI's public pages (sources).

CSU Channel Islands requires that academic records from foreign institutions be on file at least six months before your first term and, if not in English, be accompanied by certified English translations.

It does not say who must translate; California State University Channel Islands accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

International undergraduates upload a copy with the application and have the school send official transcripts later; CSUCI names no outside evaluation.

CSUCI at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

CSUCI's catalog says records from foreign institutions not in English "must be accompanied by certified English translations" and does not restrict who translates (catalog: admission); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
  • Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
  • Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
  • Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

Official transcripts

Mailed by the school, or emailed by the school to admissions@csuci.edu (International undergraduate admissions).

Fall 2026 dates

Application deadline May 4, 2026; final transcripts July 15, 2026; classes begin August 24 (International undergraduate admissions).

English

TOEFL 61 iBT undergraduate, 80 graduate, unless three years of full-time study in English (Catalog 2026-2027: admission procedures and policies).

Six months ahead: earlier than the application deadline suggests

CSUCI applies the CSU rule for foreign students, who include holders of US temporary visas: records from foreign institutions must be on file at least six months before enrollment for the first term, and if they are not in English they must come with certified English translations (catalog).

For a fall start that points to February, while the international undergraduate page lists a May 4, 2026 application deadline and July 15 for final transcripts (international undergraduate). Order the translation as soon as you have the records.

A certified translation from eVerbary covers both steps: you upload it with the copy of your transcripts in the application, and it accompanies the official records the school sends. On request we can email the translation directly to admissions@csuci.edu.

What the international undergraduate page asks for

Upload a copy of your transcripts in the online application, then submit official transcripts by mail or have the school email them directly to admissions@csuci.edu (International undergraduate admissions).

Freshmen are required to live in campus housing during their first year. For freshman applicants the records are the high school diploma and transcripts; transfer applicants add every college transcript.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school diploma and transcripts
  • College or university transcripts
  • Degree certificates, for graduate applicants
  • Bank letters for the financial documents

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to CSUCI

  • Upload a copy of the transcripts and their certified translations in Cal State Apply; the school mails official transcripts or emails them to admissions@csuci.edu (International undergraduate admissions).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For CSUCI that means we translate your records; official transcripts must still come from your school.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does CSUCI require certified translations?

Yes, for records from foreign institutions not in English (Catalog 2026-2027: admission procedures and policies).

Who can translate my records for CSUCI?

CSUCI does not say (Catalog 2026-2027: admission procedures and policies). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets the rule.

When must my foreign records be on file?

At least six months before your first term (Catalog 2026-2027: admission procedures and policies).

Can my school email the transcripts?

Yes, directly to admissions@csuci.edu (International undergraduate admissions).
