Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
- Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
- Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
- Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

Cal Poly Humboldt requirements in detail
Translation
An official English translation for transcripts in another language (Official transcripts and translations).
Who may translate
The translator; Humboldt does not restrict who, but the translation must come sealed from the issuing translator (Official transcripts and translations).
Official transcripts
Sealed envelopes sent by each school to the International Center, attention International Evaluator; copies from applicants are not accepted (Official transcripts and translations).
What records must show
Courses completed, time spent on each, grades earned and the grading system; any degree, certificate or diploma awarded (Official transcripts and translations).
By level
First-year: secondary records and proof of graduation; lower division: those plus all college records; upper division: all post-secondary records (Official transcripts and translations).
Where to send
international@humboldt.edu, or International Student Admissions, Center for International Programs, 1 Harpst St., Arcata, CA 95521-8299 (Official transcripts and translations).
The translation travels on its own, sealed by the translator
Humboldt treats the translation like a transcript.
The official English translation must be sent in a sealed envelope directly from the issuing translator to Cal Poly Humboldt, just as each school sends its own transcripts sealed to the International Center; copies sent by applicants or any other source are considered unofficial (Official transcripts and translations).
eVerbary can mail the translation in a sealed, signed envelope: choose the hard copy at checkout with the International Student Admissions address in Arcata ($19.95 Priority or $37.95 Express in the US) and write in the order notes that it is for Cal Poly Humboldt.
Humboldt also lists international@humboldt.edu for transcripts, and we can email the translation there on request.
Countries that issue only one original
Where schools issue a single original record for life, Humboldt accepts copies of each required document that an appropriate school or government official has compared with the original and certified as a true copy; you then show the original at the International Center before registration (Official transcripts and translations).
The certified true copy is made by that official, not by a translator; the English translation of it comes from us.
Translate the full record, including the grading-system explanation and the hours or time spent per course, since Humboldt asks that transcripts show both. A high school diploma translation covers the evidence of graduation first-year applicants send.

Transcripts go by email to international@humboldt.edu or by mail to International Student Admissions, Center for International Programs, 1 Harpst St., Arcata; translations must come sealed from the translator (Official transcripts and translations).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Cal Poly Humboldt that means we translate and can mail your records sealed; the certified true copies for single-original countries come from a school or government official.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions

What if my country issues only one original diploma?
Send certified true copies made by a school or government official, and present the original before registration (Official transcripts and translations).
