Babson College: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language
Babson asks international transfer applicants for a certified English translation of their high school transcripts, attached to the original documents, and asks graduate applicants to translate non-English transcripts before submitting them, as an official translation; neither page says who must make it. Babson College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The Full-Time MBA works differently: for a degree from outside the US, UK or Canada it asks for an equivalency evaluation (WES, ECE or IERF recommended), which we do not provide.
Certified for transfers
High school transcripts, attached to the originals.
Official for graduate
Translate before you submit; unofficial copies are reviewed first.
FT MBA: evaluation
Degrees from outside the US, UK or Canada.
Babson requirements at a glance
| What Babson asks for | |
|---|---|
| First-year applicants | Same Common App process as US students plus an English test; transcripts are sent by your school counselor. The first-year pages do not mention translations (how to apply, international applicants). |
| International transfer applicants | A certified English translation of high school transcripts, attached to your original documents, plus a college transcript showing credit as equivalent semester hours (source, catalog). |
| Who may translate | Not stated on any Babson page we read; the rule names the type of translation (certified, official), not the translator. |
| Graduate: Part-Time MBA, Blended MBA-Miami, CAM | An official translation of transcripts not in English (source). |
| Graduate: Specialized Master's (MSBA, MSEL, MSF) | Official translated copies; recent graduates may send a provisional degree certificate with a university-issued final transcript (source). |
| Graduate: Full-Time MBA | An equivalency evaluation for degrees from outside the US, UK or Canada; Babson recommends WES, ECE or IERF (source, FAQ). |
| Unofficial first | Graduate applicants can be reviewed on unofficial transcripts; official documents with the degree and conferral date are due before the program starts (admitted students). |
| Does it accept eVerbary? | Yes. Babson's transfer requirements ask for a "certified English translation" of high school transcripts (transfer requirements), and its graduate pages ask for an "official translation" (graduate international applicants), without limiting who translates; a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. First-year and transfer: two different pages
Babson's undergraduate pages treat international first-year applicants exactly like US applicants, with one extra item: an English proficiency score. Transcripts go through the Common App and must be submitted by your school or college counselor (how to apply). Neither the first-year page nor the international applicants page says anything about translating a transcript that is not in English, so if your school issues records in another language, ask the Office of Undergraduate Admission how it wants the English version sent.
Transfer applicants get a specific rule. International transfer applicants must add a certified English translation of their high school transcripts, attached to the original documents, and a college transcript that shows each course's credit as equivalent semester hours (transfer requirements). For transfer credit, Babson also asks for a syllabus for each college course you want counted. The rule as written covers high school transcripts; it does not say whether college transcripts or syllabi in another language need translating too, so translating them avoids a question later.
Graduate school: the rule depends on the program
Graduate admissions (the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business) says transcripts not in English must be translated before you submit them, and that you need the equivalent of a US bachelor's degree (international applicants, graduate catalog). Part-Time MBA, Blended Learning MBA-Miami and the Certificate in Advanced Management ask for an official translation; the Specialized Master's programs ask for official translated copies.
The Full-Time MBA asks for something else: if your degree was granted outside the US, UK or Canada, you provide an equivalency evaluation of the degree, and Babson recommends World Education Services, Educational Credential Evaluators or the International Education Research Foundation. For the other graduate programs, the graduate FAQ says an evaluation may be submitted but is not required. The evaluation agency sets its own translation rules; see translation for credential evaluation.
The same FAQ ties official English translations to the English test: both are required if your native language is not English and you have no bachelor's or master's from the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or India.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school transcripts (all years), for international transfer applicants
- College or university transcripts showing credits, for transfer credit or graduate admission
- Bachelor's degree certificate, or a provisional degree certificate if the degree is not yet conferred
- Course syllabi, if you want transfer credit for foreign college courses
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Babson
Undergraduate applicants apply through the Common App; transfer applicants attach the certified translation to the original documents, and the College Report and transcripts come from each school (source).
Graduate applicants upload transcripts and translations to the Graduate Admissions Portal, where the checklist shows which official documents are due after the deposit; paper documents go to Olin Hall, Suite 140, 231 Forest Street, Babson Park, MA 02457-0319 (admitted students, FAQ).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them. For Babson that means we translate your transcripts and degree certificates; the Full-Time MBA degree equivalency evaluation comes from an agency such as WES, ECE or IERF.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions
I am a first-year applicant and my school issues transcripts in another language. What does Babson want?
Babson's first-year pages do not say. Your counselor submits the transcript through the Common App (source); ask the Office of Undergraduate Admission whether a translation should go with it. If one is needed, a certified translation from a professional service is the safe choice.
What translation do international transfer applicants send?
A certified English translation of your high school transcripts, attached to the original documents (source). A certified translation from eVerbary meets that wording.
Does the Full-Time MBA accept a translation instead of an evaluation?
No. For a degree from outside the US, UK or Canada, the Full-Time MBA asks for an equivalency evaluation; Babson recommends WES, ECE or IERF (source). The agency may ask you for a translation first.
Can I apply to a Babson master's program with unofficial transcripts?
Yes. Babson reviews unofficial transcripts during the application; official documents showing the degree and conferral date are required before you start (source).
My degree is from India and I studied in English. Do I need translations?
The graduate FAQ requires official English translations and an English test only if your native language is not English and your degree is not from one of the listed countries, which include India (source).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
