How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Ave Maria University asks that official credentials in a language other than English include a certified English translation, and it does not say who must make it.
Ave Maria University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
International applicants also need a NACES evaluation, which the 2025-26 catalog specifies as a WES ICAP report (InCred for student-athletes), completed before Ave Maria makes a decision; that evaluation is something we do not provide.
Ave Maria at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Ave Maria's catalog says a certified English translation must be included when official credentials are in another language, and its international page asks for transcripts "with certified English translation if needed", without restricting who translates (2025-2026 catalog, international students); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Ave Maria requirements in detail
Translation
When official credentials are in a language other than English, a certified English translation must be included (catalog).
Who may translate
Not stated (Academic catalog 2025-2026 (PDF)).
Evaluation (high school)
WES ICAP Document-to-Document or Course-by-Course evaluation (Academic catalog 2025-2026 (PDF)); the admissions process page also lists AACRAO and InCred (admissions process).
Evaluation (college)
WES ICAP Course-by-Course; transfer students using AACRAO or WES choose course-by-course (Academic catalog 2025-2026 (PDF)).
Athletes
InCred is required for international athletes who need a transcript evaluation (Admissions process).
Records
Every year from the first year of secondary school, signed by school officials; only originals or certified copies, which are not returned (Academic catalog 2025-2026 (PDF)).
Deadlines
July 1 for fall, November 1 for spring; transcripts must be evaluated before an admission decision (International students).
Where Ave Maria's pages differ
The international students page and the 2025-26 catalog ask for transcripts accompanied by a certified English translation and for a NACES-approved evaluation (international students, catalog).
The admissions process page words it differently: it asks applicants to have the transcript translated by a current NACES-approved evaluation service and lists AACRAO, WES and InCred, while the catalog names WES ICAP reports only (admissions process).
Neither page says who must make the certified translation itself. If you use WES, it asks for a word-for-word translation from a professional translator and does not translate documents itself (WES translation rules).
Every year of secondary school, before the decision
Ave Maria wants transcripts or certificates documenting each year of study from the first year of secondary school through any university work, signed by school officials, as originals or certified copies (catalog).
It is your responsibility to have them evaluated before you receive an admission decision, and consideration is delayed until all credentials are in (Admissions process, Academic catalog 2025-2026 (PDF)).
With a July 1 fall deadline, translate the full record, including grading scales and exam results, early enough for the WES review.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Ave Maria
Send official or certified copies with the certified translation to the Admissions Office; the evaluation goes from WES (or InCred, for athletes) to Ave Maria (Academic catalog 2025-2026 (PDF)).
eVerbary delivers a signed PDF; on request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Ave Maria that means we translate your records; the WES ICAP, AACRAO or InCred evaluation is ordered by you from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

I am an international athlete. Which agency do I use?
InCred, which is required for international athletes who need a transcript evaluation (Admissions process).
