Albany State requirements in detail

Translation

A certified English translation of all documents not in English (International students admission).

Who may translate

Who counts as international

F-1 and other visa holders, anyone educated outside the US, applicants abroad, and applicants whose permanent residency is pending (International students admission).

Freshmen

Official high school transcripts with a seal or original signature, mailed or emailed by a school official (International students admission).

Transfers

Official transcripts from a credential evaluation service for every college attended, course by course with GPA, from an AICE or NACES member; under 30 transferable hours, the secondary transcripts too (International students admission).

Agencies named

Scholaro, ECE, WES and Josef Silny; the I-20 section also lists SpanTran and says unlisted agencies are not accepted (International students admission).

Financial

Bank statements within six months, translated into English with funds in US dollars; $27,600 for the first year (International students admission).

Certified translations for school and bank records

Albany State uses one rule for freshmen and transfers: if transcripts are not in English, submit a certified English translation of all documents, and the records themselves must carry a seal or an original signature (international students).

It counts as international not only visa students but anyone educated outside the US and anyone whose permanent residency is still pending, so residents with a foreign high school diploma follow the same steps.

For the I-20, bank statements must be dated within six months, be on bank letterhead signed by a bank official, state the currency and the current balance, and be translated into English with the funds in US dollars; the page notes that many applicants use Scholaro for that (International students admission). eVerbary translates the statement as issued, in the original currency; we do not convert amounts.

Where Albany State's page differs

The freshman and transfer steps ask for a certified English translation (International students admission).

The I-20 section of the same page says that official documents not in English "can be submitted through" one of the listed evaluation agencies (AICE, ECE, Josef Silny, NACES, WES, Scholaro, SpanTran) and that agencies not listed are not accepted.

Transfers need such an evaluation anyway; freshmen may want to ask Admissions whether a translation alone is enough.

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Albany State

  • Mail official documents to Albany State University, Office of Admissions, 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705, or have a school official email transcripts to admissions@asurams.edu (International students admission).

  • eVerbary delivers a signed PDF of the certified translation; on request we can also email it directly to the admissions office.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Albany State that means we translate your transcripts and bank statements; the course-by-course evaluation with GPA for transfer credit comes from an AICE or NACES agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
