How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Alaska Pacific University publishes no translation rule of its own: international applicants need a foreign credentials evaluation of every transcript and degree from outside the US, and APU recommends World Education Services.
APU's evaluation agency, WES, accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You order the translation first and send it to WES; WES writes the evaluation, which we do not provide.

APU requirements in detail
Translation
APU states no translation rule; records from abroad reach it through a foreign credentials evaluation. The translation is what WES needs before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by WES: a professional translator or service, not the applicant.
Evaluation
A foreign credentials evaluation of all transcripts and degrees obtained outside the US; APU recommends WES (Alaska Pacific University: applying to APU).
Records
Official transcripts from every post-secondary institution attended, in or outside the US, with the Supplemental Application for International Students (Alaska Pacific University: applying to APU).
Deadlines
Fall: May 1 priority, August 1 late. Spring: November 1 priority, December 1 late; undergraduate admission is rolling (Alaska Pacific University: applying to APU).
Graduate
Counseling Psychology (MSCP and PsyD) February 15, no late applications; Creative Writing MFA April 1 (Alaska Pacific University: applying to APU).
Who translates for WES
APU's list says translation services may also be acquired through WES for transcripts not in English (applying to APU).
WES's own translation page says otherwise: WES does not provide translation services, and asks for an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service, not by the applicant.
Plan on a certified translation before you open the WES application, uploaded with the copy of the original.
Every record from abroad
The evaluation covers all transcripts and degrees obtained outside the US, so graduate applicants evaluate their bachelor's degree and undergraduates any college study abroad, alongside official transcripts from every post-secondary institution (Alaska Pacific University: applying to APU).
Graduate programs may ask for more, and the Counseling Psychology programs close on February 15 with no late applications, so start the translation and the WES file early. I-20s are issued electronically once you are admitted.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to APU
The translation goes to WES with your records; WES sends the evaluation to APU. The Supplemental Application for International Students and official transcripts go to the Admissions Office (Alaska Pacific University: applying to APU).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For APU that means we translate your records for WES; the foreign credentials evaluation is ordered by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
