How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
Atlanta Public Schools asks foreign exchange students for the official transcript of school records with a translation signed by the translator, and for a physician's health report from the home country translated into English.
It does not say who must translate, so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary, signed by the translator, meets the rule.
For other new students APS asks for an official transcript or report card without a language rule; eVerbary translates documents and does not decide admission or grade placement.
APS at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
The APS foreign exchange application asks for the official transcript "with a translation signed by the translator" (application) and does not restrict who translates, so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. Policy checked on October 21, 2026.

Worth knowing about APS
Signed by the translator
The exchange application wants the translator's signature on the transcript.
Health report in English
Physician's report from the home country, translated.
48-hour window
Missing documents void the exchange application.
APS requirements in detail
Translation
Exchange students upload the official transcript of school records with a translation signed by the translator; the application also asks for a transcript in English of the student's grades (APS Foreign Exchange Student: Enrollment Application).
Who may translate
Not restricted; the application asks only that the translator sign the translation.
Health records
An immunization record and a student health report completed by a physician in the home country, translated into English and meeting Georgia requirements (APS Foreign Exchange Student: Enrollment Application); all students, exchange students included, need the Georgia Certificate of Immunization (DPH Form 3231) (APS: New student enrollment).
Who the rule covers
Exchange students aged 15 to 19, placed by an organization approved by CSIET and by APS Student Assignment, living with a host family within APS boundaries (APS: Foreign exchange student).
Deadlines
Applications for school year 2026-27 were taken April 13 to May 1, 2026; if any document is missing 48 hours after the application is submitted, it is voided (APS: Foreign exchange student, APS Foreign Exchange Student: Enrollment Application).
Other new students
Every enrolling student presents an official transcript or report card of work or credit; without one, the student is placed provisionally in the grade the family indicates (APS: New student enrollment, APS student handbook: Enrollment, registration and transfers).
Diploma
Exchange students receive a certificate of attendance instead of a diploma, and may take part in senior activities (APS: Foreign exchange student).
What the exchange file needs
APS approves the exchange organization first and then the student.
The student's file, uploaded in the online application, emailed or delivered to Student Assignment, includes the passport, an English proficiency score (TOEFL or SLEP), a transcript in English, an upload slot for the official transcript "with a translation signed by the translator", and the health documents (APS Foreign Exchange Student: Enrollment Application).
The application is voided if anything is missing 48 hours after it is submitted, so translations should be ready before the agency applies.
A signed translation is what our certificate of translation accuracy provides: the translator's statement and signature on letterhead, delivered as a PDF to upload next to the scan of the original transcript.
Health reports and vaccination cards from the home country are translated at the same price per page, with each vaccine and date as written, so the Georgia immunization certificate can be completed from them.
Families who move to Atlanta
For a neighborhood school, APS asks for an official transcript or report card at enrollment, with no rule on its language (APS: New student enrollment).
The student handbook explains why the transcript matters: without it, a student is enrolled provisionally in the grade the family states, and if the transcript later shows the wrong grade or subject, the student is moved (APS student handbook: Enrollment, registration and transfers).
If your child's report cards are in another language, ask the school whether it wants an English version; APS directs families who need help with registration or records to its Student & Family Support Hub (APS: New student enrollment).

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
- Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.
Submitting the translation to APS
Exchange students: upload the original transcript and the signed translation in the APS foreign exchange application (recommended), or send them to studentassignment@atlanta.k12.ga.us, by fax, or in person at 130 Trinity Avenue SW (APS Foreign Exchange Student: Enrollment Application).
Other new students: bring the official transcript or report card, with an English translation if the school asks for one, to enrollment (APS: New student enrollment).
What we do not do
eVerbary translates documents; it is not the school district, and it does not decide grade placement or credit. Interpreters for meetings with the school are a separate service: see interpreters for parent-teacher conferences.
For Atlanta Public Schools that means we translate the records; admission of exchange students and grade placement are decided by APS.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
