Wyoming State Board of Nursing: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language

Yes, through the evaluation: Wyoming BON asks for a credential evaluation, and Josef Silny & Associates (JS&A), one of the agencies it accepts, takes translations by a translator individually certified by ATA, whom eVerbary assigns on request.

Credential evaluation: One of eight listed agencies

  • ATA-certified translator from $34.95 per page
  • Ordered through a free quote
  • Price and translator confirmed before you pay

The Wyoming State Board of Nursing publishes no translation rule of its own: nurses educated outside the US file a Foreign Educated Application and have their program verified by an accepted credentialing agency, and the Board lists TruMerit (formerly CGFNS), ECE, ERES, IERF, IEE, Josef Silny & Associates (JS&A), The Evaluation Company (TEC) and Trential.

TruMerit, ECE and IEE have the school or themselves provide English versions of nursing records, while JS&A and TEC accept outside translations from translators certified by the American Translators Association (ATA), whom eVerbary assigns on request.

We translate your transcripts, diploma and license for JS&A or TEC; we do not order the evaluation, and records the agency must receive from your school still come from your school.

Wyoming BON at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Wyoming accepts reports from the credentialing agencies it lists, including JS&A and TEC (Licensing, foreign educated applicants).

JS&A accepts outside translations made in the US when the translator is ATA-certified (JS&A services), and TEC accepts an outside translator only if certified by ATA (TEC), so a translation by an ATA-certified translator, which eVerbary assigns on request, meets the rule of either agency. Wyoming BON requirements in detail

Translation

The Board publishes no translation rule; the credentialing agency you choose sets it (Licensing, foreign educated applicants).

Who may translate

TruMerit: the school, otherwise TruMerit (TruMerit). ECE nursing: school records in English, ECE translates if needed (ECE). IEE: no translations from applicants (IEE). JS&A and TEC: ATA-certified outside translators (JS&A, TEC).

Evaluation

Your program must be approved in its country and verified by an independent credential review agency from the Board's list (Licensing, foreign educated applicants).

How documents arrive

Everything must come to the Board from the credentialing agency, board, certifying institution or college, and can be emailed to WSBN.licensing@wyo.gov (RN/LPN Foreign-Educated Checklist, linked from wsbn.wyo.gov).

Timing

You must have graduated from the foreign pre-licensure program within 5 years of the application date (Licensing, foreign educated applicants).

English proficiency

Required unless English is the native language of your country and your program and textbooks were in English; IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, MET or OET (Licensing, foreign educated applicants).

Already licensed in the US

Submit an Endorsement Application instead of the Foreign Educated Application (Licensing, foreign educated applicants).

Eight agencies, different translator rules

Wyoming's list is one of the longest: TruMerit course-by-course or CES, ECE, ERES, IERF, IEE, JS&A, TEC and Trential (Licensing, foreign educated applicants).

For nursing records, TruMerit wants transcripts translated by the school, or translates them itself for a fee (TruMerit); ECE's nursing reports require school records in English and offer ECE's own translation (ECE); IEE's nursing handbook does not accept translations directly from applicants (IEE).

JS&A's application for boards of nursing asks for "professional, certified English translations" (JS&A: application for boards of nursing), and its services page adds that outside translations made in the US must come from ATA-certified translators (JS&A: services and translations); its FAQ says most professional translations are acceptable, subject to review (JS&A: FAQ).

TEC, which lists Wyoming among the boards that accept its Nursing Course Analysis (The Evaluation Company: nursing services), accepts an outside translator only if ATA-certified (The Evaluation Company: avoid delays).

Where the Wyoming pages differ

The RN/LPN Foreign-Educated Checklist linked from the licensing page lists seven agencies, without ECE and Trential, and older TOEFL scores (RN/LPN Foreign-Educated Checklist, linked from wsbn.wyo.gov); the licensing page itself lists eight agencies and current scores (Licensing, foreign educated applicants).

We follow the licensing page; if you plan to use ECE or Trential, confirm with the Board first.

The five-year window counts from graduation to the date of your application (Licensing, foreign educated applicants), so allow time for the school to send records, for the translation and for the evaluation before you apply.

Need a certified translation for Wyoming BON?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Nursing school transcripts, with theory and clinical hours
  • Nursing diploma or degree certificate
  • Course descriptions for nursing and science courses
  • Nursing license or registration from the country of education
  • Secondary school diploma, if the agency asks for it

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
  • Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.

Submitting the translation to Wyoming BON

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Wyoming BON, what it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service or a licensing agency: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we cannot send documents on behalf of the school or authority that issued them, and we do not file the license application.

For Wyoming that means we translate your nursing records for JS&A or TEC; we do not order the evaluation, file your Foreign Educated Application, or send documents on behalf of your school or licensing body.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
