How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners asks MD applicants for official transcripts from every medical school attended and, when a transcript is not in English, for a certified original and an official English translation; it does not say who must translate.
Nevada BME accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Transcripts are among the verifications returned to the Board by the school or through FCVS, so confirm with your License Specialist how the translation should travel; we translate, we do not send documents for your school.
Nevada BME at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
The physician checklist asks for "a certified original and official English translation" of transcripts not in English, without naming who must translate (physician application checklist), so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. Osteopathic physicians apply to a separate Nevada board.
Nevada BME requirements in detail
Translation
Official transcripts from all schools of medical instruction; if not in English, a certified original and official English translation (Physician application checklist).
Who may translate
Not stated by the Board (Physician application checklist). ECFMG, whose status report Nevada requires, accepts a professional translation service and bars self-translation (ECFMG: English translations).
Original or copy
A certified original transcript, listed among the direct source verifications that the verifying institution returns to the Board; an FCVS packet may verify it instead (Physician application checklist).
Evaluation
No credential evaluation; a certification status report from ECFMG (Physician application checklist).
Identity
Non-US citizens send copies of both sides of the green card, work permit or visa and of the foreign passport; FCVS may supply seal-verified identity documents (Physician application checklist).
Who applies here
Allopathic physicians (MD), online; DOs apply to the Nevada State Board of Osteopathic Medicine (Physician licensure forms).
Special case
A Transitional Limited Physician license lets graduates of schools outside the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the UK practise under supervision (Apply for licensure).
The transcript rule, and who sends what
Nevada's translation rule sits inside its medical school item: Form 1, Verification of Medical Education, completed by the school, and official transcripts from every school where you received medical instruction, with a certified original and an official English translation if they are not in English (Physician application checklist).
The checklist groups these under verifications the applicant requests and the verifying institution returns directly to the Board.
The checklist does not say whether the school or the applicant arranges the translation.
If your school will not translate, ask your License Specialist whether you may send our certified translation yourself or whether the school should enclose it with the transcript, and order once you know which pages the school will send.
FCVS and ECFMG
Items marked on the checklist, the medical school records among them, may be verified by an FCVS packet instead (Physician application checklist); FCVS and ECFMG then handle the foreign documents under their own rules.
ECFMG wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translation service, on letterhead, signed, with a certification statement, and never the applicant's own (ECFMG: English translations).
For physicians trained outside the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the UK, Nevada also issues a Transitional Limited Physician license for supervised practice in internal medicine, family medicine or pediatrics, which can lead to an unrestricted license after 3,840 hours (Apply for licensure).

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
- Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.
Submitting the translation to Nevada BME
Apply online through the Board's applicant portal, linked from the physician licensure forms; once the application arrives, your License Specialist sends the background-check authorization, fingerprint cards and instructions (Physician licensure forms).
Transcripts and their translation follow the checklist's direct-source route from the verifying institution, or FCVS (Physician application checklist); confirm with your License Specialist how they want an outside translation delivered.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service or a licensing agency: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we cannot send documents on behalf of the school or authority that issued them, and we do not file the license application.
For Nevada that means we translate your transcripts and other records; we cannot send them on behalf of your medical school, and we do not order FCVS or ECFMG reports.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Nevada medical board require translated transcripts?
Yes. If transcripts are not in English, a certified original and an official English translation are required (Physician application checklist).
Who can make the official English translation?
The checklist does not say. A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets the wording; ECFMG does not accept translations made by applicants (ECFMG: English translations).
Can FCVS verify my medical school records for Nevada?
Yes, the checklist marks medical school records among the items an FCVS packet may verify (Physician application checklist).
I am a DO. Is this the right board?
No. Nevada's Board of Medical Examiners licenses MDs; osteopathic physicians apply to the Nevada State Board of Osteopathic Medicine (Physician licensure forms).
