How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
The Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts lets an international medical graduate meet the education requirement by uploading a valid ECFMG certificate, and its physician application publishes no translation rule of its own.
The translations happen at ECFMG, which accepts a word-for-word translation by a professional translation service such as eVerbary and does not accept translations made by applicants.
We translate your diploma, transcript and name records; ECFMG certification and Missouri's verifications are yours to request.
Missouri Healing Arts Board at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Missouri accepts a valid ECFMG certificate in place of a US-accredited diploma and transcripts (physician application instructions), and ECFMG accepts translations prepared by a professional translation service (ECFMG translation requirements), so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. Missouri Healing Arts Board requirements in detail
Translation
Missouri's physician application has no translation rule of its own (Instructions for permanent physician application). Its Official Document Form covers transcripts, marks and translations the Board requests (Official Document Form).
Who may translate
At ECFMG: a government official, a medical school official or a professional translation service; applicants may not translate their own documents (ECFMG: English translations).
Evaluation
No separate evaluation. International graduates upload a valid ECFMG certificate; Canadian graduates and graduates of LCME or COCA schools send diploma and transcripts instead (Instructions for permanent physician application).
Original or copy
ECFMG takes the translation only together with the original-language document (ECFMG information booklet).
Name changes
Upload a marriage certificate, divorce decree, adoption order, court order or naturalization certificate if your name differs on any document (Instructions for permanent physician application).
How to submit
The paper application and the $102 fee go to P.O. Box 4, Jefferson City, MO 65102; supporting documents are uploaded or sent with the Official Document Form (Instructions for permanent physician application, Official Document Form).
FCVS
Postgraduate certificate, diploma, transcripts, exam scores and name-change records may be included in an FCVS report (Instructions for permanent physician application).
Missouri relies on ECFMG for foreign degrees
Missouri gives physician applicants two ways to prove medical education: a diploma and transcripts from a school accredited by the LCME, COCA or a similar body, or a valid ECFMG certificate (Instructions for permanent physician application).
For an international graduate that means the foreign diploma and transcript are checked, and translated, during ECFMG certification rather than by the Board.
ECFMG's rule is the one to meet: a complete, word-for-word translation, made from the original or a photocopy, signed by a professional translation service on letterhead that identifies it as a translation service, with a certification statement in English (ECFMG: English translations). An eVerbary certified translation is laid out that way.
What Missouri may still ask you for
The Board's Official Document Form lists translations among the documents it may request, and the application asks for name-change records when a previous name appears on any supporting document (Instructions for permanent physician application).
If those are in another language, translate them before the Board asks; a certified translation of a marriage certificate is a one-page order.
The physician application does not ask for translations to be notarized (Instructions for permanent physician application); if the Board requests a document during review, ask whether it wants notarization before you order, and add it at checkout if so.

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Medical school diploma, for ECFMG

- Marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order for a name change
- Foreign medical license
- Postgraduate training certificates issued abroad, if the Board asks for them
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
- Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.
Submitting the translation to Missouri Healing Arts Board
For ECFMG, upload the certified translation and the original-language document through your MyIntealth account, following ECFMG's instructions (ECFMG: English translations).
For the Board, upload name-change records with your application or send requested documents with the Official Document Form (Official Document Form, application forms).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service or a licensing agency: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we cannot send documents on behalf of the school or authority that issued them, and we do not file the license application.
For Missouri that means we translate your diploma, transcript and name records; we do not apply for ECFMG certification or request your FCVS report or exam scores.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
