How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
Colorado candidates with education from outside the US need an evaluation from NASBA International Evaluation Services, any NACES member or an AICE member, and must also prove that the audit course taken abroad concentrated on US GAAS.
The Board publishes no translation rule, so the evaluator's rule applies, and WES, a NACES member, and NIES accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
We translate your transcripts, diplomas and the audit course syllabus; CPA Examination Services, which the Board has authorized to process applications, receives the evaluation from the agency.

Colorado Board of Accountancy requirements in detail
Translation
No Board translation rule; records not in English are translated for the evaluator under its rule (CPA Examination Services: Colorado).
Who may translate
Evaluation
By NIES, any member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), or an AICE member (CPA Examination Services: Colorado).
What it must show
Equivalency summary, credential analysis, course-by-course listing, total, accounting and business credits, and whether the audit course has a US GAAS concentration (CPA Examination Services: Colorado).
Audit course proof
A letter from the school confirming the US GAAS concentration, the course syllabus, and the primary textbook with publisher and authors (CPA Examination Services: Colorado).
How it arrives
Mailed directly to CPA Examination Services by the school or the evaluator, with a copy of the international transcript; photocopies of evaluations are not accepted (CPA Examination Services: Colorado).
Who processes it
The Board has authorized CPA Examination Services (NASBA) to process its applications (Colorado Board of Accountancy applications and forms).
The US GAAS requirement
Colorado adds a step most states do not: if your education is international, you must prove that the audit course you took abroad concentrated on US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, with a school letter, the syllabus and the textbook details, or the application is incomplete (CPA Examination Services: Colorado).
The evaluator also has to state whether the audit course has that concentration (CPA Examination Services: Colorado).
If the syllabus or the school's letter is not in English, translate it with the transcripts so the evaluator and CPAES can read it. The documents must reach CPAES directly from the school or the evaluation service (CPA Examination Services: Colorado).
Choosing an evaluator
Colorado's list is open: NIES, any NACES member, or an AICE member (CPA Examination Services: Colorado). Translation rules differ.
WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator (WES); ECE accepts any complete, literal translation (ECE); NIES accepts ATA members, universities and ministries, not private providers outside the US (NIES).
Some NACES members accept only ATA-certified translators; for those, see the ATA section below.
Need a certified translation for Colorado Board of Accountancy?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- University transcripts or mark sheets
- Degree certificates and diplomas
- Audit course syllabus
- School's letter confirming the audit course's US GAAS concentration
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
- Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.
Submitting the translation to Colorado Board of Accountancy
The translation goes to the evaluator with your records. The evaluator mails the evaluation, with the international transcript, directly to CPA Examination Services; the school sends the GAAS letter and syllabus directly too (CPA Examination Services: Colorado).
eVerbary can mail the translation to the evaluator in a sealed, signed envelope: choose the hard copy at checkout with the evaluator's address ($19.95 Priority or $37.95 Express in the US) and write in the order notes that it is for the Colorado CPA evaluation.
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Colorado Board of Accountancy, what it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service or a licensing agency: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we cannot send documents on behalf of the school or authority that issued them, and we do not file the license application.
For Colorado that means we translate your records, including the audit syllabus; we do not confirm US GAAS content, which is for your school and the evaluator.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
