The experticia complementaria del fallo
Venezuelan practice has a device with no US equivalent: a judgment may order an experticia complementaria del fallo — a supplementary expert determination — in which experts appointed after judgment calculate the amount the judgment awards.
So the court decides liability and the experts decide the figure, and the expert report is part of the judgment rather than evidence in the case. A US reader treating it as evidence has the procedural posture wrong, and we name it.

In an ordinary experticia each party names an expert and the court names a third, and the three produce a single report or, where they disagree, a majority report with a dissent.
