Buddhist Era dates
Thai documents supporting a passport are dated in the Buddhist Era, 543 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar, so a house registration entry from B.E. 2540 is 1997. Months and leap rules match, so only the year shifts.
The passport itself prints Gregorian dates, so a passport and its supporting documents appear to disagree by 543 years. We convert each date individually and show both.
The thirteen-digit ID, and the house registration
The passport carries the thirteen-digit national identification number, which does not change. The underlying record is the tabien baan, the house registration book, which lists the household and is what evidences a family relationship.
The passport shows no parents. For a family matter the house registration and the birth certificate are the documents, and applicants routinely send neither.
Romanisation, and the length of Thai names
Thai romanises inconsistently and there is no single accepted scheme, so one surname can appear several ways across documents. Thai surnames are also long and must be unique nationally, which is why they look unlike anyone else's.

Titles, and the name change certificates
Thai documents carry titles — Mr, Mrs, Miss, and royal and academic ranks — which are not name components. Thai women may also change titles on marriage.
