The tabu, and the cadastral record
Syrian title is registered in the sijill al-aqari — the tabu — by real estate zone, block and parcel, and the extract (bayan qayd) gives the owners, their shares and the annotations.
A large part of the country was cadastrally surveyed under the French mandate and the records are old and detailed. The zone, block and parcel together are the identifier and we reproduce all three.
Shares written in twenty-fourths
Syrian ownership shares are conventionally expressed in 2400 parts (or in twenty-fourths), so a half share appears as 1200/2400 rather than as a fraction a US reader expects.
A translation that rounds or converts these silently loses the exact entitlement, which matters enormously in inheritance files. We reproduce the figures as written.
Destroyed records, and Law 10
Conflict since 2011 destroyed or displaced many local registries, and Law 10 of 2018 created redevelopment zones requiring owners to prove title within a short period, with dispossession as the consequence.
