The immunisation card, and the yellow card
Nigeria records childhood immunisation on a child health card issued under the national programme, and separately issues the yellow card — the international certificate of vaccination — for yellow fever, which is required for travel to and from Nigeria.
They are two different documents. The yellow card proves yellow fever vaccination only and is frequently the one people have; the child health card is the childhood immunisation record a US civil surgeon needs.
BCG, OPV and the campaign doses
The Nigerian schedule gives BCG and OPV at birth, and national immunisation campaign days deliver additional polio and measles doses that may be recorded informally or not at all.
