No legal separation, and divorce by the district court
Nepali law provides no legal separation. Divorce is granted by the district court, by mutual consent or on statutory grounds, and the 2017 Civil Code restated the provisions.
Living separately for a defined period is one of the grounds, so the date separation began is consequential and appears in the petition and the judgment. We reproduce it.
The property settlement is part of it
Nepali law entitles a divorcing spouse to a share of property, and the court decides it with the divorce, so the judgment covers more than the dissolution.
