Bolivian civil records are held by SERECÍ, the Servicio de Registro Cívico, which operates under the Tribunal Supremo Electoral rather than under a ministry. The divorce is written on the marriage record
A divorce is recorded as a marginal annotation against the marriage entry rather than as a separate certificate, so a copy of the certificado de matrimonio issued before the divorce shows a marriage still in force — with nothing on it to suggest anything is missing.
