Four grades, and a percentage
Bolivia issues a carnet de discapacidad under Ley 223, recording a grade — leve, moderada, grave or muy grave — assessed with a percentage by a departmental qualification team.
Both the grade and the percentage appear, and entitlements turn on the grade rather than the number. We reproduce both with the scale they belong to.
CODEPEDIS, and the registry
Assessment is carried out by departmental teams under the health ministry and the person is entered in a national registry, with CODEPEDIS departmental committees administering locally.
The card, the registry entry and the assessment are three things, and we name which the client has.
What the card opens
Bolivian entitlements include a monthly payment for people with severe and very severe disability, transport concessions, tax relief and employment quota placement.
So the grade has a direct financial consequence, which is why reproducing it exactly matters more than characterising it.
The cédula suffix, and altitude
The cédula de identidad number frequently carries a departmental suffix — LP, CB, SC — which is part of the identifier and not an abbreviation to be dropped.
