The DNI number is on the passport
Argentine passports are issued by RENAPER through the national registry and the biodata page carries the DNI number, which stays with the person for life and does not change with a change of name.
That number is the link to every other Argentine document and it is the strongest cross-check in the packet. We reproduce it exactly, and the associated CUIL where a document shows it.
The gender marker, and the X option
Argentina has issued documents with an X gender marker since 2021, and under the 2012 gender identity law a person may change registered name and sex administratively, with the prior record not disclosed.
So an Argentine passport may show a name and marker with no annotation anywhere indicating a change, which is what the statute requires. We translate the document as issued and do not speculate.
The partida is provincial
Civil registration is provincial, so the birth certificate backing an Argentine passport comes from a provincial Registro Civil with its own format, seals and numbering.
