IESCAREE, the evaluation service of the Center for Applied Research, Evaluation and Education, requires a certified English translation of non-English academic documents; translations made in the US must be by an ATA translator, a US court certified translator or a US federal certified translator, and IESCAREE accepts all translations by ATA Certified Members while reserving the right to ask for a new one from anyone else.

IESCAREE accepts a translator individually certified by ATA, and eVerbary assigns one on request.

IESCAREE does not translate and refuses self-translations and notarized-only translations; eVerbary translates your records and does not order the evaluation.

IESCAREE at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

IESCAREE accepts all ATA "Certified Member" certified translations (evaluation process), so a translation by an ATA-certified translator, which eVerbary assigns on request, meets it. Policy checked on October 21, 2026.

Worth knowing about IESCAREE

Certified Member, not Member

Only ATA-certified work is safe from a request to redo it.

Two copy sets

Copies of all originals and translations, or a $15 fee.

Originals required

Original or sealed official records, mailed with tracking.

IESCAREE requirements in detail

Translation

A certified English translation of non-English academic documents is required (IESCAREE: evaluation process).

Who may translate (US)

An ATA translator, a US court certified translator or a US federal certified translator. All ATA Certified Member translations are accepted; most ATA Member translations are, subject to review (IESCAREE: evaluation process).

Who may translate (abroad)

Most certified translations by an internationally recognized agency or institution in the country of study, such as an embassy, a university or Department of Justice translators (IESCAREE: evaluation process).

Self-translation

Not accepted, even from an applicant who is a qualified translator; notarized-only translations are not accepted either (IESCAREE: frequently asked questions).

Original or copy

Original or official sealed records, plus two copy sets of all originals and translations; without them IESCAREE charges a $15 copy fee (IESCAREE: evaluation process).

How to submit

By mail with tracking, in one application package; originals are returned with the evaluation, records addressed to the Center are not (IESCAREE: evaluation process).

IESCAREE's own option

None: the Center does not provide translations and points applicants to the ATA directory (IESCAREE: frequently asked questions).

ATA "Certified Member" versus ATA "Member"

IESCAREE draws a distinction many agencies do not: an ATA Certified Member has passed ATA's certification exam, while an ATA Member has joined the association.

It accepts all translations by Certified Members and most by Members, and reserves the right to require a new translation from a different source for anything not done by a Certified Member (IESCAREE: frequently asked questions).

For that reason we assign a translator individually certified by ATA for IESCAREE files. ATA certifies translators into English only for certain languages; for others, IESCAREE accepts most certified translations made by a recognized agency or institution in the country of study.

Assembling the application package

IESCAREE works on paper.

The package holds the signed application form, the original or sealed official records, the certified translations, and two copy sets of every original and every translation, each document on its own sheet and both sides copied where the back has content (IESCAREE: evaluation process). Copies sent later do not waive the $15 copy fee.

Print the eVerbary PDF twice more for the copy sets. If a translation contains a discrepancy, IESCAREE asks the applicant to have the translator verify and correct it, or to obtain a new translation.

Need a certified translation for IESCAREE?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Transcripts of records and mark sheets
  • Diplomas and degree certificates
  • Syllabi showing credits or hours per subject, for course-by-course reports
  • Secondary school certificates, where secondary study is evaluated

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
  • Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.

Submitting the translation to IESCAREE

  • Mail one package with the application, the original or sealed official records, the certified translations and two copy sets of everything, using a service with tracking (IESCAREE: evaluation process).

  • eVerbary delivers a signed PDF; print the translation for the package and for each copy set.

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for IESCAREE, what it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we do not order the evaluation for you, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For IESCAREE that means we translate your records with an ATA-certified translator; the evaluation, the verification of your originals and the official report are between you and the Center.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I translate my own documents for IESCAREE?

No, even if you hold a translator certification the Center would normally accept (IESCAREE: frequently asked questions).

Does IESCAREE translate documents?

No. The Center provides evaluation services only and refers applicants to the ATA directory (IESCAREE: frequently asked questions).

Is an ATA member translation enough?

Most are accepted, but IESCAREE may require a new translation unless it was done by an ATA Certified Member (IESCAREE: frequently asked questions).

What copies do I need to send?

Two copy sets of all original documents and translations, or a $15 copy fee (IESCAREE: evaluation process).

Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for IESCAREE?

Yes, on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English. Ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for IESCAREE and needs a translator individually certified by ATA.
