How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

Wharton County Junior College says international high school diplomas must be evaluated, recommends The Evaluation Company through a discounted WCJC application, and accepts any other company that is a NACES member; it publishes no translation rule of its own.

WCJC's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The translation goes to the agency first; the evaluation is something we do not produce.

WCJC at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

WCJC asks for an evaluation by TEC or another NACES member (how to apply), and WES, a NACES member, accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES rule), as does ECE; TEC wants a translator certified by ATA. Policy checked on October 26, 2026.

Worth knowing about WCJC

Foreign diploma evaluated

For every applicant, not only F-1.

TEC recommended

Discounted WCJC application.

Sealed or direct

Unsealed copies from students are refused.

WCJC requirements in detail

Translation

No rule of its own; the evaluation service needs the translation (How to apply).

Who may translate

Set by the evaluation service; see below.

Evaluation

International high school diplomas must be evaluated; WCJC accepts international high school equivalency credentials (How to apply).

Agencies

The Evaluation Company is recommended; any other company must be a NACES member (How to apply).

Official records

Sent directly by the school or in a sealed envelope, by email to admissions@wcjc.edu or mail to 911 Boling Hwy, Wharton, TX 77488 (How to apply).

What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation

The Evaluation Company, WCJC's recommended service, wants an outside translator certified by the American Translators Association or translates in-house; ask eVerbary for a free quote and say it is for TEC, and we assign a translator individually certified by ATA.

With another NACES member the rule can be wider: WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator, and ECE accepts any complete, literal translation or translates internally for an $85 waiver.

A rule for every applicant with a foreign diploma

WCJC's how-to-apply steps are written for all applicants, so the evaluation applies to residents and immigrants who finished high school abroad, not only to F-1 students (How to apply).

Official records must come from your school or in a sealed envelope, and unofficial or unsealed copies sent by students are not accepted.

Send the evaluation request with the translation, so the agency can report the US equivalency of your diploma without asking for more.

Need a certified translation for WCJC?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school diploma or leaving certificate
  • High school transcripts
  • High school equivalency credential from abroad
  • College transcripts, if any

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to WCJC

  • The translation goes to the evaluation service with your records; the evaluation goes to WCJC Admissions at admissions@wcjc.edu or 911 Boling Hwy, Wharton, TX 77488 (How to apply).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For WCJC that means we translate your diploma and transcripts; the evaluation is ordered by you from TEC or another NACES member.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does WCJC require a translation or an evaluation?

An evaluation of an international high school diploma (How to apply); the agency asks for the translation.

Which agency should I use?

The Evaluation Company is recommended; any NACES member is accepted (How to apply).

Does this apply if I am a US resident?

Yes. The rule is in WCJC's general how-to-apply steps (How to apply).

Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for TEC?

Yes, on request through a free quote: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian at $34.95 per page, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian at $44.95. ATA certifies no other languages into English.

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
