How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Westmont College asks international applicants to have all documents, including high school and college transcripts, translated into English and evaluated by an approved credential evaluation service, any NACES member, before they are sent to the Office of Admissions.
Westmont's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You translate first and send the translation with your records to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not provide.

Westmont's order of steps
Step two of Westmont's international application says all documents, including high school and college transcripts, must be translated into English and evaluated by an approved credential evaluation service before being sent to the Office of Admissions, and points to any evaluator approved by NACES.
So the translation comes first, the NACES agency evaluates the record with it, and Westmont receives the evaluated documents; separately, school officials send official transcripts directly or through the Common App.
Westmont recommends the free Common App, asks for one academic reference from a teacher in a major subject, requires an interview of every international applicant and a Certification of Finances, and keeps SAT or ACT optional; international students can receive up to $25,000 in merit scholarships (International students). For the school record, see high school diploma translation.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations by applicants.
ECE accepts complete, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original, even your own, or sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally for the report.
IERF asks for typed, line-by-line, word-for-word translations and may require a professional one.
Westmont's sentence can also be read as the evaluation service doing the translation; if you want to use your own certified translation, choose an agency, such as WES, that takes it.

- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Westmont
Send the certified translation with your records to the NACES agency; the agency sends the evaluation to Westmont's Office of Admissions, and school officials send official transcripts (International students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Westmont that means we translate your records for the agency; the NACES evaluation is ordered by you after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Westmont require a credential evaluation?
Yes. Documents must be translated and evaluated by a NACES-approved service before reaching Admissions (International students).
Which evaluation agency should I use?
Any NACES member (International students). WES, ECE and IERF accept professional translations.
Can I use an eVerbary translation for WES?
Yes. WES accepts translations by a professional translator, not by applicants (WES).
Does Westmont accept Duolingo?
No. It asks for TOEFL (83) or IELTS (6.5) (International students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
