How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Western Colorado University asks international transfer applicants to include a certified English translation of any transcript in another language, and does not say who must translate; first-year applicants send a high school transcript in English.
Western accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Coursework from outside the US also needs a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES or AACRAO member, which we do not provide.
Western at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Western's international application requirements ask for a certified English translation and do not restrict who makes it (international requirements); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Western requirements in detail
Translation
Transfer: a certified English translation of transcripts in another language. First-year: a high school transcript in English (Western Colorado University: international application requirements).
Who may translate
Not stated.
Transcript copies
Each transfer transcript an original or certified copy, with the school's official seal and signature (Western Colorado University: international application requirements).
Evaluation
Classes taken outside the US: a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES or AACRAO member service (Western Colorado University: international application requirements).
High school records
Transfer applicants send them only with fewer than 24 US credit hours of college work (Western Colorado University: international application requirements).
Deadlines
October 1 for spring, June 1 for fall (Western Colorado University: international application requirements).
Translation and evaluation for transfers
Western asks transfer applicants for two things with a foreign transcript: a certified English translation, and a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES or AACRAO member (international requirements).
The same certified translation serves both. WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or service and not the applicant; ECE accepts literal translations and sells an $85 Translation Waiver. English scores start at TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.0 or Duolingo 105.
Where Western's page differs
For first-year applicants, Western's list says the transcript should come directly from the school by mail or by email to admissions@western.edu, and then that a transcript sent by email or fax does not count as official (Western Colorado University: international application requirements).
Ask admissions which delivery your school should use, and send the certified translation the same way.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Western
Transcripts come from your school to admissions@western.edu or by mail (Western Colorado University: international application requirements); eVerbary can email the certified translation directly to the same office on request. For the evaluation, the translation goes to the agency with your records.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
At Western that means the NACES or AACRAO course-by-course evaluation of study abroad is ordered from the agency; we translate the transcripts.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
