How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Colorado Mesa University asks international first-year applicants for a high school transcript in English, and transfer applicants for university transcripts accompanied by a certified literal English translation and evaluated by a third party; it does not say who must translate.

Colorado Mesa accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The evaluation, from ECE, WES, TEC or another NACES member, is needed for any transfer credit, and we do not provide it.

Colorado Mesa at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Colorado Mesa's international transfer page asks for a certified literal English translation and does not restrict who makes it (international transfer); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Colorado Mesa requirements in detail

Translation

First-year: a high school transcript in English (Colorado Mesa: international first-year requirements). Transfer: university transcripts with a certified literal English translation (Colorado Mesa: international transfer requirements).

Who may translate

Not stated.

Evaluation

Optional, but no credit or degree is considered without a professional evaluation from ECE, WES, TEC or any NACES member; TEC offers a discount (Colorado Mesa: international transfer requirements).

Official copies

Unofficial transcripts for admission review; an official one, with the issuer's seal, at enrollment; faxed or emailed copies are not acceptable (Colorado Mesa: international first-year requirements).

Graduate

A third-party evaluation from TEC, ECE, WES or a NACES member to recognize the foreign degree; Nursing and Physician Assistant applicants contact the office first (Colorado Mesa: international graduate requirements).

Scholarship

International Student Merit Scholarship of $4,500 per semester for a 3.0 GPA equivalent or higher (Colorado Mesa: international first-year requirements).

Translation for admission, evaluation for credit

Colorado Mesa separates the two. To be admitted, a first-year applicant sends the last high school transcript in English, unofficial first and official at enrollment (first-year requirements).

A transfer applicant sends university transcripts with a certified literal English translation; the evaluation is optional for admission, but no credits or degree are considered without one, and evaluated transcripts are reviewed only after acceptance (transfer requirements).

If you order the evaluation, a separate official transcript to CMU is not needed.

For the evaluation: WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or service and not the applicant; ECE accepts literal translations and sells an $85 Translation Waiver.

TEC, the discounted option, asks for an ATA-certified translator, whom eVerbary can assign through a free quote.

Where Colorado Mesa's pages differ

The first-year page says high school transcripts are needed from transfer students with fewer than 24 US-equivalent college credits (Colorado Mesa: international first-year requirements); the transfer page says fewer than 30, about one year of full-time study (Colorado Mesa: international transfer requirements).

If you are between the two, send the high school record with its translation.

  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Colorado Mesa

  • Schools may email official transcripts directly to Colorado Mesa's international admissions office (Colorado Mesa: international first-year requirements). eVerbary can email the certified translation directly to the same office on request; for credit, the translation also goes to the evaluation agency.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

At Colorado Mesa that means the ECE, WES, TEC or NACES evaluation needed for transfer credit is ordered from the agency; we translate the records.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
