How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Fort Lewis College publishes no translation rule of its own: international applicants' secondary diplomas need a course-by-course evaluation with a US-equivalent GPA from a NACES member, and IEE and The Evaluation Company offer discounts to Fort Lewis applicants.
Fort Lewis's evaluation agencies, such as IEE and WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the agency writes the evaluation, which we do not provide.

Fort Lewis requirements in detail
Translation
Fort Lewis states no translation rule; records from abroad reach it through a NACES evaluation. The translation is what the agency needs before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency (see below).
Evaluation
Secondary diplomas need a course-by-course evaluation for the US-equivalent GPA from a NACES member (Fort Lewis College: international admission).
Discounts
International Education Evaluations (IEE) and The Evaluation Company offer discounts to Fort Lewis applicants (Fort Lewis College: international admission).
Deadlines
Fall: early action November 15, priority January 1. Spring: priority October 1, regular December 1. Summer: April 10 (Fort Lewis College: international admission).
Fee
Pay online or by a check or money order from a US bank in US dollars, with your name and date of birth (Fort Lewis College: international admission).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
Fort Lewis accepts any NACES member and names two with discounts (international admission). IEE wants a translation by a certified translator, not the applicant or a notary public, and also sells its own translations.
The Evaluation Company asks for an outside translator certified by the American Translators Association, or translates through its own team; for TEC, eVerbary can assign one through a free quote, for the languages ATA certifies.
If you choose another NACES member, WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or service and not the applicant, and does not translate itself.
A GPA from the evaluation
Fort Lewis asks for course-by-course detail even at the secondary level because it reads your grades as a US GPA (Fort Lewis College: international admission).
Translate every year of the secondary record with its grading scale and the diploma, so the agency can compute the GPA without asking for more.
The essay is optional, and summer is open to international students, with an April 10 deadline.

- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Fort Lewis
The translation goes to IEE, TEC or the NACES agency you choose, with your records; the agency sends the course-by-course evaluation to Fort Lewis (Fort Lewis College: international admission).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Fort Lewis that means we translate your records for the agency; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions

Can I use an eVerbary translation with TEC?
TEC asks for an outside translator certified by ATA (TEC). eVerbary can provide one through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page).
