Wesleyan University requires certified translations, submitted alongside copies of the original documents, for any required application document not already in English; it does not say who must translate.
Wesleyan University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
The transcript itself must come directly from your high school, which we cannot send on its behalf, and Wesleyan asks for no credential evaluation.
Wesleyan at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Wesleyan's international applicant page asks for "certified translations alongside copies of the original documents" (international applicants) and does not restrict who translates; a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Wesleyan requirements in detail
Translation
Certified translations alongside copies of the originals for any required document not in English (International applicants).
Who may translate
Not stated.
How the transcript arrives
Sent to Wesleyan directly by the high school, not by any outside organization; the School Report is completed by the school (International applicants).
Exam results
Students in exam-based curricula (A level, French Baccalaureate, IB, ISC, WASSCE) submit actual or predicted results through the school with the School Report (International applicants).
Evaluation
Not required; transfers receive Wesleyan's own credit review with the offer of admission (transfer).
Graduate Liberal Studies
Official transcript from a foreign institution and, if not in English, a certified translation (GLS).
Deadlines
Early Decision November 15 or January 1, Regular Decision January 1, fall transfer March 15 (International applicants).
The school sends the record, you send the translation
Wesleyan separates two things.
The School Report is completed by teachers or administrators at your high school, and the transcript is sent to Wesleyan directly from the school, not from any outside organization (international applicants).
Any required document not already in English must then be accompanied by a certified translation, together with a copy of the original (International applicants).
So the applicant's file holds the school's official transcript plus your certified translation of it and a copy of the original you translated from. Translate every page the school issues, including the grading legend and the exam certificate, so the reader can match the two line by line.
Exam-based curricula and graduate study
Candidates in exam-based systems such as A levels, the French Baccalaureate, the IB, ISC or WASSCE must provide their scores; actual or predicted results go in with the School Report, and actual results follow as soon as they are available (International applicants).
A results slip or certificate in another language needs the same certified translation.
The Graduate Liberal Studies program asks for an official transcript from a foreign university and a certified translation if it is not in English.
Where an official transcript is impossible to obtain, GLS may accept GRE or MAT scores, three academic letters written or translated into English, and a writing sample instead (GLS).

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Wesleyan
First-year and transfer applicants apply through the Common or Coalition Application and follow their file in WesCheck; the translation and the copy of the original go in with the required documents, while the transcript itself comes from the school (International applicants).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Wesleyan that means we translate your records and exam results; the official transcript and School Report are sent by your school.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of translation does Wesleyan want?
A certified translation, together with a copy of the original document (International applicants).
Can I send my transcript and translation together?
The transcript must come directly from your high school, not an outside organization; the certified translation accompanies a copy of the original (International applicants).
Do I need a WES or ECE evaluation for Wesleyan?
Wesleyan does not ask for one; transfers receive Wesleyan's own credit review with the offer of admission (Transfer applicants).
What if my exam results arrive after I apply?
Predicted results go with the School Report and actual results as soon as they are available (International applicants).
What does Graduate Liberal Studies ask for?
An official transcript and a certified translation if it is not in English (Graduate Liberal Studies: international applicants).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
