How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

The University of West Florida asks undergraduate international applicants to send all secondary and college records to an approved evaluation company for a course-by-course evaluation with GPA, and transcripts not in English must include a translation in addition to that evaluation; the Graduate School asks for a certified translation of every document not in English.

Neither says who must translate; University of West Florida accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The evaluation comes from the agency, and we do not provide it.

UWF at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

UWF's undergraduate instructions say transcripts not in English must include a transcript translation in addition to the course-by-course evaluation (completing your application), and the Graduate School asks for a certified translation of all documents not in English (graduate international); neither restricts who translates. Worth knowing about UWF

GPA even for high school

Undergrad: course-by-course with GPA for secondary records too.

Translation plus evaluation

Both are required for records not in English.

Agency sends both

Evaluation and official transcripts go from the agency.

UWF requirements in detail

Translation (undergraduate)

A transcript translation in addition to the course-by-course evaluation (International admissions: completing your application).

Translation (graduate)

A certified translation of all documents not in English (Graduate School: international students).

Who may translate

Not stated on either page.

Evaluation (undergraduate)

Course-by-course with GPA for secondary and post-secondary work, from TEC, Ucredo, ECE, IEE, Scholaro, Josef Silny, ACEI or Atlas (International admissions: completing your application).

Evaluation (graduate)

Course-by-course with GPA from every institution attended, from any NACES member or a listed agency such as ECE, Educational Perspectives, IEE or Scholaro (Graduate School: international students).

Delivery

The agency sends the evaluation and official transcripts to UWF; graduate reports sent by applicants are not accepted (International admissions: completing your application, graduate).

Transfer threshold

12 or more college credit hours makes you a transfer applicant (requirements).

Undergraduate: an evaluation with GPA for every record, and a translation

UWF does not use a simple document-by-document report for high school.

International undergraduates send official copies of all secondary and college work to an approved company for a course-by-course evaluation with GPA calculation, and ask the agency to send both the report and the official transcripts to UWF (International admissions: completing your application).

Transcripts not in English must include a translation in addition to the evaluation. Translate the full high school diploma and every year of grades.

The approved list is The Evaluation Company, Ucredo, ECE, IEE, Scholaro, Josef Silny, ACEI and Atlas; TEC, IEE and Scholaro offer a discount through UWF's links and Atlas a $15 code (International admissions: completing your application).

ECE accepts complete, word-for-word translations. TEC, Josef Silny and ACEI ask for ATA-certified translators, which eVerbary can assign on request.

Graduate School: certified translations and stricter delivery

The Graduate School accepts only original documents or officially signed and certified photocopies, and every document not in English must have a certified translation (Graduate School: international students).

The evaluation must be course by course with a GPA from every institution attended, including ones where you took only a few classes, and must reach UWF from the agency, by mail or electronically, before the application deadline. The school may reject an evaluation it believes is not accurate.

Its agency list is wider: any NACES member, plus Ucredo, Josef Silny, IEE, TEC, Scholaro, VeriONCE, FIS, Atlas, ECE and Educational Perspectives.

Some departments do an internal evaluation instead, so ask yours first (Graduate School: international students). Check that your agency can evaluate your degree; UWF gives the Bologna bachelor's as an example some do not.

Need a certified translation for UWF?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Secondary school transcripts and diploma, for the course-by-course evaluation
  • University transcripts and degree certificates
  • Mark sheets and grading scales
  • Immunization records, if not in English (they need a translation)

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to UWF

  • Undergraduates: the translation goes to the evaluation company with your records; the agency sends the evaluation and official transcripts to UWF Undergraduate Admissions (International admissions: completing your application).

  • Graduate applicants: the agency submits the evaluation; certified translations accompany the original or certified documents you provide (Graduate School: international students). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for UWF, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For UWF that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation with GPA is ordered by you from an approved agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a translation if I already order a credential evaluation for UWF?

Yes. UWF asks for a transcript translation in addition to the course-by-course evaluation (International admissions: completing your application).

Does my high school record need a course-by-course evaluation?

Yes, for undergraduate admission: secondary and college work both go for a course-by-course evaluation with GPA (International admissions: completing your application).

What translation does the UWF Graduate School want?

A certified translation of every document not in English (Graduate School: international students).

Can I send the evaluation report myself?

No. For graduate admission UWF does not accept reports sent by applicants (Graduate School: international students); undergraduates ask the agency to send it.

Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for UWF?

Yes, on request, for example if you use The Evaluation Company, Josef Silny or ACEI. Ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for the University of West Florida and needs a translator individually certified by ATA. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English; no other languages.

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
