How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Trinity College requires every application document, including grade 9-12 transcripts and letters of recommendation, to be in English or to come with a certified translation; it does not say who must translate.
Trinity College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Transfer applicants with coursework from a college outside the US also need a WES course-by-course evaluation, which we do not provide.
Trinity at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Trinity's application page asks that documents not in English come with "certified translations" (application process) and does not restrict who translates; a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Worth knowing about Trinity

Trinity requirements in detail
Translation
All documents, including transcripts for grades 9-12 and recommendation letters, in English or with a certified translation added to the application (Undergraduate application process).
Who may translate
Not stated; Trinity mentions EducationUSA and ECE as sources of help (Undergraduate application process).
Evaluation (first-year)
Not required.
Transfer
Course-by-course evaluation from WES for coursework at an institution not accredited in the US, sent to Trinity College in Hartford (transfer).
Finances
CSS Profile for need-based aid; otherwise the Statement of Finances Form (Undergraduate application process).
Deadlines
Early Decision I November 15, Early Decision II and Regular Decision January 15; fall transfer April 1 (Undergraduate application process, transfer).
Letters of recommendation count too
Trinity's rule covers every document in the file, not only the transcript: high school transcripts for grades 9 through 12 and the letters of recommendation must be in English, and if they are not, a certified translation is added with the application (application process).
Trinity asks for only one academic recommendation, so for many applicants the set to translate is four years of transcripts plus one letter.
The page adds that EducationUSA can guide applicants through the process and that nationally recognized agencies such as ECE can assist (Undergraduate application process). That is a suggestion, not a requirement: first-year applicants are not asked for an evaluation.
Transfer applicants: WES only
For college coursework completed at an institution not accredited in the US, Trinity asks for a course-by-course credential evaluation from World Education Services, sent to Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut (transfer).
WES itself asks for a professional, word-for-word translation of records not in English; see translation for WES.
Fall transfer applications are due April 1, with rolling decisions by mid-May, so order the translation early enough for WES to finish its report.
Need a certified translation for Trinity?

- Secondary school diploma or completion certificate
- Letter of recommendation, if not written in English
- College transcripts from abroad, for the WES evaluation
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Trinity
First-year and transfer applicants apply through the Common Application; the certified translation is added with the application materials (Undergraduate application process). For transfers, the translation goes to WES with your records, and WES sends its report to Trinity (Transfer applications).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Trinity that means we translate your transcripts and letters; the WES course-by-course evaluation transfer applicants need is ordered from WES.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Trinity College accept a professional translation?
Trinity asks for a certified translation and does not restrict who makes it (Undergraduate application process); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Do my recommendation letters need translating?
Yes, if they are not in English (Undergraduate application process).
Do I need an ECE evaluation to apply as a first-year?
No. Trinity mentions ECE and EducationUSA as help with the process (Undergraduate application process).
Which evaluation does Trinity want for transfer credit?
A WES course-by-course evaluation for coursework at an institution not accredited in the US (Transfer applications).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
