How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Tallahassee State College, formerly Tallahassee Community College, asks that every international academic record be issued in its native language and come with a certified English translation, and it also wants an official evaluation by a NACES member such as IEE, Josef Silny, WES or The Evaluation Company.
Its policy does not restrict who makes the translation; Tallahassee State College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The evaluation is paid by you to the agency, and we do not provide it.
TSC at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
TSC's International Student Services asks for international academic records "accompanied by a certified English translation" and does not restrict who translates (international services); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. TSC requirements in detail
Translation
All international academic records issued in the native language with a certified English translation (International Student Services).
Who may translate
Not stated (International Student Services).
Evaluation
Official evaluation of high school records, course-by-course evaluation of college transcripts, and/or exam results, by a NACES member (International Student Services).
Named agencies
IEE, Josef Silny & Associates, World Education Services and The Evaluation Company; TSC links its own application forms for IEE, Josef Silny and TEC (International Student Services).
Cost
Paid by the student; you may deal with the agency directly or ask ISS for help (International Student Services).
Where it goes
Official records, evaluations, test scores and proof of funding go directly to International Student Services, 444 Appleyard Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32304 (International Student Services).
A translation for TSC and a translation for the agency
TSC asks for two things.
Your academic records must be issued in the native language, so an English version printed by your school does not replace the original, and they must be accompanied by a certified English translation (International Student Services).
Separately, a NACES member evaluates the high school record, college transcripts or exam results. Order one certified translation and use copies for both: the records file at TSC and the agency file.
Translate the full high school diploma, every year of grades and any national exam certificate, since TSC lists exam results among the records the agency evaluates.
What each named agency asks for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and rejects translations by applicants. IEE wants a certified translator, not the applicant or a notary public, and sells its own translations.
The Evaluation Company says an outside translator must be certified by the American Translators Association, and Josef Silny asks for ATA-certified translators in the US. If you apply through TSC's TEC or Josef Silny forms, eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request (see below).
Need a certified translation for TSC?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school diploma and transcripts, in the original language
- College or university transcripts and degree certificates
- National examination results
- Bank statements and sponsor documents, if not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to TSC
Send official records with their certified translations, the agency's evaluation, test scores and proof of funding directly to International Student Services, 444 Appleyard Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32304 (International Student Services).
The agency receives its own copy of your records and translation; use TSC's application link if you choose IEE, Josef Silny or TEC (International Student Services). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for TSC, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For TSC that means we translate your records; the NACES evaluation is ordered and paid by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does TSC need a translation if I also get an evaluation?
Yes. TSC asks for records with a certified English translation and an official NACES evaluation (International Student Services).
Can my school send English-language records instead?
TSC asks for records issued in the native language and accompanied by a certified English translation (International Student Services).
Which evaluation agency should I use?
A NACES member, such as IEE, Josef Silny, WES or The Evaluation Company (International Student Services).
Is Tallahassee State College the same as Tallahassee Community College?
Yes; the college now uses the name Tallahassee State College and its pages are at tsc.fl.edu (International Student Services).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for TSC?
Yes, on request, for example if you use The Evaluation Company or Josef Silny. Ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Tallahassee State College and needs a translator individually certified by ATA. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English; no other languages.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
