Stockton requirements in detail
Translation (first-year)
Transcripts not in English: either evaluated by an official credentialing agency, or translated by a certified translator and notarized (Undergraduate international admission requirements).
Who may translate
A certified translator (first-year); a language professor or professional translation (graduate) (graduate).
Notarization
Required on the first-year translation route; eVerbary adds it for $34.90 per order.
Transfer
College transcripts must be in English and accompanied by an official evaluation (Undergraduate international admission requirements).
Recommended agencies
ECE (General Report with Grade Average), IEE (Course Report), TEC (Course Analysis) or WES (Course-by-Course); others accredited by NACES, AACRAO, AICE or TAICEP (Undergraduate international admission requirements).
Graduate evaluation
WES, ECE or TEC, sent directly to Stockton (International graduate student admission).
Who sends the transcripts
The secondary school, directly; transcripts from parents, consultants or applicants are not accepted (Undergraduate international admission requirements).
First-year applicants: a certified translation is enough
Stockton asks first-year applicants for senior secondary transcripts covering years 9 to 12 and the results of any school-leaving exam, such as the WAEC certificate, the Baccalauréat, the Bachillerato or the Russian certificate of secondary general education.
Transcripts not in English can follow either route: an evaluation by an official credentialing agency, or a translation by a certified translator that is notarized (international admission requirements).
Stockton notes that ordering an official evaluation adds costs and one to three weeks to completing the application, so plan the route you choose around the deadline.
An eVerbary certified translation with notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) covers the second route. The transcripts themselves must still be sent by your school directly to Stockton by the application deadline.
Transfer applicants: the evaluation is not optional
For college work the rule changes: post-secondary transcripts must be in English and accompanied by an official evaluation (Undergraduate international admission requirements).
Stockton recommends ECE's General Report with Grade Average, IEE's Course Report, TEC's Course Analysis report or WES's Course-by-Course Report, and accepts other agencies accredited by NACES, AACRAO, AICE or TAICEP.
The evaluation must include a course-by-course credit and grade conversion, whether the program is accredited, and the US equivalent level.
Stockton's international FAQ points students transferring from outside the US to the same agencies (FAQ).
Graduate applicants: professional translation plus WES, ECE or TEC
Graduate applicants need a degree equivalent to a four-year US bachelor's degree, and all foreign transcripts and credentials must be evaluated by WES, ECE or The Evaluation Company and sent directly to Stockton.
Documents not in English must come with a translation verified by a language professor or a professional translation, and Stockton suggests sending certified true copies of documents that cannot be replaced (graduate admission).

Uploading the translation to Stockton
First-year applicants: the school sends the transcripts directly to Stockton, and you add the notarized certified translation, or an evaluation from one of the listed agencies, before the deadline (Undergraduate international admission requirements).
Transfer and graduate applicants send the translation with their documents to the evaluation agency, which sends its report to Stockton (International graduate student admission).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Stockton that means we translate and notarize your records; the official evaluation required for transfer and graduate admission is ordered from an agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credential evaluation to apply to Stockton as a first-year student?
No, if you choose the other route: transcripts translated by a certified translator and notarized are accepted (Undergraduate international admission requirements).
Does the translation have to be notarized?
Yes, on the first-year translation route (Undergraduate international admission requirements). eVerbary adds notarization for $34.90 per order.
Which report should I order for a transfer application?
ECE General Report with Grade Average, IEE Course Report, TEC Course Analysis or WES Course-by-Course; other NACES, AACRAO, AICE or TAICEP agencies are accepted (Undergraduate international admission requirements).
Can I send my school transcripts myself?
No. Stockton accepts only transcripts sent by the secondary school directly (Undergraduate international admission requirements).
What translation does the graduate school accept?
One verified by a language professor or a professional translation (International graduate student admission).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
