How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

St. Catherine University requires any document in a language other than English to be accompanied by an English translation from a certified translator, giving ATA translators as an example, and does not allow applicants to translate their own documents.

St. Catherine University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary, and eVerbary, an ATA corporate member, can also assign a translator individually certified by ATA on request.

Transfer credit needs an evaluation from an approved third-party agency, which we do not produce.

St. Kate's at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

St. Kate's asks for "an English translation from a certified translator such as ATA Translators" and rules out self-translation (international application instructions); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets that. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Translation

Any document in a language other than English, with an English translation (International application instructions).

Who may translate

A certified translator, such as an ATA translator; not the applicant (International application instructions).

Official records

Secondary transcripts listing all subjects and marks, sent directly by the school (International application instructions).

Completed school

Certified copies of the diploma or leaving certificate and a final transcript; originals may be returned on request (International application instructions).

Transfer credit

Considered course by course after evaluation by an approved third-party agency; St. Kate's makes the final decision (International application instructions).

Fee

No application fee; Common App or St. Kate's application (International application instructions).

A certified translator, and never yourself

St. Kate's is one of the few colleges that names the kind of translator it wants: a certified translator, such as an ATA translator, and it says applicants are not allowed to translate their own documents (International application instructions).

An eVerbary certified translation carries a signed certificate of accuracy; eVerbary is an ATA corporate member (#273062). If you want a translator individually certified by ATA, ask for a free quote and mention St. Kate's.

Diplomas by certified copy, records from the school

Secondary transcripts must come directly from the school, listing every subject and mark; if you have finished school, add certified copies of your diploma or leaving certificate and a final transcript (International application instructions).

Each document not in English needs its translation. Transfer applicants should expect a course-by-course evaluation by an approved agency, with St. Kate's deciding the final credit.

  • University transcripts, for transfer credit

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for St. Kate's, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For St. Kate's that means we translate your documents; the transfer credit evaluation comes from an approved third-party agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does St. Kate's require an ATA-certified translator?

It asks for a certified translator and gives ATA translators as an example (International application instructions). A certified translation from eVerbary qualifies, and an individually ATA-certified translator is available on request.

Can I translate my own documents?

No (International application instructions).

Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for St. Kate's?

Yes, through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page). ATA certifies no other languages into English.

How is transfer credit evaluated?

Course by course, by an approved third-party agency (International application instructions).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
