Requirements checked on October 27, 2026 from SEU's public pages (sources).

Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, asks international applicants whose grading system differs from the US one for an official translation and a course-by-course evaluation of at least the last two years of high school, with a GPA; transfer and graduate students send every college transcript with translation and credential evaluation.

It does not say who must translate; Southeastern University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

The evaluation comes from an agency such as IEE, SpanTran, WES or ECE, and we do not provide it.

SEU at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

SEU's international FAQ asks you to "provide official translation and a course-by-course evaluation" without restricting who translates (international students); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
  • Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
  • Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
  • Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

An official translation and a course-by-course evaluation

SEU's international FAQ treats them as two items: if your school's grading system differs from the US system, you provide an official translation and a course-by-course evaluation of at least the last two years of high school, with the grade point average computed.

Transfer and graduate students submit transcripts from every college attended, with translation and credential evaluation, listing all courses in progress with names, numbers and credit hours (international students).

Each agency also has its own translation rule. IEE wants a certified translator, not the applicant; WES wants a professional translator; SpanTran, now The Evaluation Company, asks for an outside translator certified by ATA, which eVerbary can arrange on request through a free quote.

Where SEU's wording differs

The same page's document checklist says that a high school transcript not yet "translated to the U.S. grading system" goes through an official translating service like SpanTran or InCred, which are evaluation agencies (International students).

The FAQ, by contrast, lists the official translation and the course-by-course evaluation as separate requirements. If in doubt, ask SEU admissions which document it expects.

Need a certified translation for SEU?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school transcripts, at least the last two years
  • High school diploma or completion documents
  • College transcripts, including courses in progress
  • Degree certificates, for graduate applicants

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to SEU

  • Send the official translation with your transcripts and order the course-by-course evaluation from one of SEU's agencies, using the discounted SEU applications at IEE or SpanTran if you choose them (International students).

  • On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For SEU that means we translate your transcripts and diplomas; the course-by-course evaluation with GPA comes from IEE, SpanTran, InCred, JSilny, WES or ECE.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

What does SEU need for transcripts from another country?

An official translation and a course-by-course evaluation of at least your last two years of high school, with GPA (International students).

Which evaluation agencies does SEU accept?

IEE and SpanTran (discounted SEU applications), plus InCred, Josef Silny & Associates, WES and ECE (International students).

Can I use an eVerbary translation?

SEU asks for an official translation without saying who must make it (International students); a certified translation from eVerbary qualifies.

Do transfer students need an evaluation?

Yes. Credit from foreign universities is reviewed only after an independent evaluation (Admission requirements).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
