How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Santa Rosa Junior College does not require transcripts for admission (applicants under 18 upload a copy of the high school diploma) and states no translation rule of its own; credit for coursework from outside the US comes only after you enroll, through an official report from a NACES member, ACREVS, WES or TEC.
SRJC's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You translate first and send the translation to the agency, which writes the report; the report is something we do not provide.
SRJC at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
SRJC gives credit for foreign coursework through a report from a NACES member, ACREVS, WES or TEC, and says that for WES documents in other languages need a translation (SRJC transcripts page), and WES accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES rule); ECE and IERF, both NACES members, accept one too, while TEC asks for a translator certified by ATA. SRJC requirements in detail
Translation
SRJC states no translation rule for admission; for credit, the translation goes to the evaluation service, and SRJC notes that WES needs one for documents not in English (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation service. WES, ECE and IERF accept a professional translation; TEC asks for an ATA-certified translator.
Admission records
Applicants 18 or older: none. Under 18: a copy of the high school diploma or an unofficial transcript with the graduation date (International Student Program: admissions).
Accepted evaluators
Any NACES member, ACREVS, WES (course-by-course for university work) or TEC (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
What the report must show
Accreditation, lower or upper division recommendations, calendar system, units and grades, and that the school equals a regionally accredited US institution (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
Where it goes
An official sealed or electronic report plus the Transfer Credit Evaluation Form to Admissions and Records; a copy of the foreign transcript is not needed (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
Deadlines (F-1)
Spring 2027: November 1; Fall 2027: June 1; summer only for SEVIS transfers and the English Language Bridge Program (International Student Program: admissions).
What each evaluation service asks for the translation
SRJC lists four options for foreign coursework (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
For WES, which wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations by applicants, SRJC adds that transcripts must be sent to WES directly by the issuing school, that documents in other languages need a translation, and that university coursework calls for a course-by-course evaluation with SRJC named as a recipient.
Among other NACES members, ECE asks for complete, word-for-word translations and lets applicants translate their own documents (it also sells an $85 Translation Waiver), and IERF asks for typed, line-by-line translations.
TEC, which gives SRJC students a discounted rate and sends SRJC a free copy, accepts outside translations only from translators certified by ATA; eVerbary can assign one on request. ACREVS, a Bay Area service SRJC also lists, sets its own rules.
Credit only after you enroll
SRJC does not require official transcripts for admission, and it reviews foreign coursework only after you are admitted and enrolled in classes (International Student Program: admissions).
You then submit the official report with the Transfer Credit Evaluation Form.
SRJC recognizes lower division coursework toward associate degree general education or a major; courses whose comparability is unclear are not used, and you may send course descriptions for review, which the agency may charge extra to include (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
SRJC cannot certify foreign coursework for CSU-GE or IGETC, and four-year schools may not accept the evaluation at all, so it suggests seeing a counselor before paying for a report (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
Need a certified translation for SRJC?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- University transcripts and degree certificates, for the evaluation
- Secondary school diploma, if you will be under 18 when classes begin
- Course descriptions, if SRJC asks for them
- Bank statements, if not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to SRJC
For admission, F-1 documents are uploaded in Homebase, in the I-20 Next Steps module, after the CCCApply application (International Student Program: admissions).
For credit, the translation goes to the evaluation service with your records (WES, for example, takes it in your WES account); the official report then reaches SRJC Admissions and Records sealed or electronically, with the Transfer Credit Evaluation Form (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for SRJC, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For SRJC that means we translate your records for the evaluation service; the report itself is ordered by you from a NACES member, ACREVS, WES or TEC after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to translate my high school diploma to be admitted to SRJC?
Only applicants under 18 send proof of graduation, a copy of the diploma or an unofficial transcript; SRJC states no translation rule for it (International Student Program: admissions).
Which evaluation services does SRJC accept?
Any NACES member, ACREVS, WES or TEC (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
Can I use an eVerbary translation with WES for SRJC?
Yes. WES accepts a translation from a professional translation service (WES); SRJC adds that the school must send your transcripts to WES directly (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for SRJC's TEC evaluation?
Yes, on request through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page). ATA certifies no other languages into English (TEC rule).
Will foreign courses count toward IGETC or CSU-GE?
No. SRJC cannot certify foreign coursework for CSU-GE or IGETC (Admissions: incoming and sending transcripts).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
