Portal
ApplyTexas or Common App for undergraduates; ApplyTexas or GradCAS for graduate students; $90 fee for international applicants (International steps checklist).
A certified translator, named in the rule
SHSU is one of the Texas universities that says plainly who may translate: a certified translator or a NACES-accredited evaluation company, for any transcript or document not in English (International steps checklist).
The translation goes with the official transcript, which must come from your school or an approved evaluation service, not from you, and SHSU may ask for more documents to verify your records.
Translate mark sheets, diplomas and degree certificates, with every stamp and the grading scale.
Graduate applicants: the in-house review
For graduate study, SHSU offers an in-house review of credentials completed outside the US.
Only if it cannot review yours do you need a transcript evaluation of the bachelor's degree, from a NACES member such as SDR in Houston or WES (International steps checklist).
The minimum for any graduate program is a bachelor's degree from an accredited US institution or an equivalent from abroad, finished before the admission term, and many programs want a 3.0 or more (graduate checklist).
Start with the certified translation: it serves the in-house review and, if needed, the agency.

Uploading the translation to Sam Houston State
Send the certified translations to Undergraduate Admissions, Box 2418, Huntsville, TX 77341-2418, or deliver them to 1905 University Ave, with your official transcripts sent by your school (International steps checklist).
We can also send the translation directly to the admissions office by email on request.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Sam Houston State that means we translate your records; if the in-house review is not possible, the evaluation of your degree is ordered from a NACES member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
