How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Salisbury University publishes no translation rule of its own: international transfer applicants send their non-US credentials to a credential evaluation agency, a NACES member such as WES, for a course-by-course evaluation with a GPA, while first-year applicants send official or notarized attested records directly.
Salisbury's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not provide.

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Salisbury asks international transfers for a course-by-course evaluation from a credential evaluation agency and recommends WES or any NACES member (international transfer), and WES accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES translation rules); ECE and IERF accept one as well. Salisbury requirements in detail
Translation
Salisbury states no translation rule (International first-year admission); for transfers, the translation is what the evaluation agency needs before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency (see below).
First-year records
Official transcripts, diploma and mark sheets, as originals or notarized attested copies, mailed sealed by the school or exam board or emailed to admissions@salisbury.edu (International first-year admission).
Transfer evaluation
Credentials from non-US institutions go to a credential evaluation agency for a course-by-course evaluation with a GPA; a NACES member is recommended, WES named (International transfer admission).
Delivery
The agency sends the report directly to the Office of Admissions, online or to admissions@salisbury.edu (International transfer admission).
Application fee
USD 50 (International first-year admission).
What the evaluation agency asks for the translation
Salisbury recommends WES or any NACES member for transfer evaluations (international transfer). WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept applicants' own.
ECE accepts a complete, literal translation, including your own, and sells an $85 waiver. IERF asks for typed, line-by-line translations and may require a professional one.
The report must include a GPA, so translate every grade and the grading scale.
First-year applicants: originals or attested copies
First-year applicants are not asked for an evaluation.
Salisbury wants official transcripts, the diploma and mark sheets as originals or notarized attested copies, sent sealed by the secondary school, examination board or university, or emailed to admissions (first-year international).
The page states no translation rule for those records; if yours are not in English, ask the Office of Admissions (international@salisbury.edu) whether to include a certified translation.

Uploading the translation to Salisbury
Transfers: the translation goes to the evaluation agency with your records, and the agency sends its report directly to Salisbury (International transfer admission).
First-year records go by mail to the Office of Admissions, 1200 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21801, or by email from the issuer (International first-year admission).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Salisbury that means we translate your records for the agency; the course-by-course evaluation with GPA is ordered by you from WES or another NACES member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Salisbury require a certified translation?
Its pages state no translation rule; transfers need an agency evaluation (International transfer admission), and the agency sets the translation rule.
Do first-year applicants need an evaluation?
The first-year checklist asks for official or notarized attested records, not an evaluation (International first-year admission).
Which agency should transfers use?
Salisbury recommends WES or any NACES member (International transfer admission).
Can I send attested copies instead of originals?
Yes, notarized attested copies of the original are accepted (International first-year admission).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
