Worth knowing about Saddleback

Translation or evaluation

Either service may translate and attest your records.

No English test needed

Without one, you are admitted to Intensive ESL.

One rule for all

Every outside transcript must be in English.

Saddleback requirements in detail

Translation (F-1)

Records not in English are recommended to be translated and attested by a certified translation or credential evaluation service (International student admission).

Who may translate

A certified translation service or a credential evaluation service (International student admission); an official translator for transcripts sent to Admissions & Records (Admissions & Records: transcripts).

Academic level

Records equivalent to a US high school diploma or a higher degree (International student admission).

Where to upload

After CCCApply, the International Student Office emails you to create an account on the Saddleback Application Portal and upload the documents (International student admission).

English proficiency

Not required for admission; without a test score you are admitted to Intensive ESL and later move to the academic program (International student admission).

Bank statement

Uploaded with the Financial Responsibility Form, dated within the last 4 months (International student admission).

Other transcripts

Transcripts from other institutions can be sent electronically, by mail or in person, and must be in English (Admissions & Records: transcripts).

A translation service or an evaluation service: your choice

Saddleback is one of the few colleges that names the kind of provider it expects.

Its international admissions page asks for academic records equivalent to a US high school diploma or higher, and recommends that records in other languages be translated and attested by a certified translation or a credential evaluation service.

The evaluation service is an alternative, not a requirement: for admission, a certified translation of your diploma and transcripts is enough. If your highest level is high school, see high school diploma translation.

Applicants who attended US high schools or colleges send official transcripts to Saddleback so that some credits can transfer.

Because Saddleback no longer requires an English test for admission, your translated records and financial documents are the core of the file: students without a test score receive an I-20 for ESL and move to an associate-level I-20 once they complete ESL or show proficiency.

Transcripts sent to Admissions & Records

The rule is not limited to F-1 students.

Saddleback's transcripts page says transcripts from other institutions must be in English, with an English translation by an official translator if necessary, and can be submitted electronically, by mail or in person after you have a Saddleback student ID.

It also notes that prerequisites are not cleared automatically when transcripts arrive; you follow the separate Clearing Prerequisites procedure.

Need a certified translation for Saddleback?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school diploma and transcripts
  • College or university transcripts and degree certificates
  • Bank statement for the Financial Responsibility Form
  • Financial guarantee, for embassy-sponsored students

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Saddleback

  • F-1 applicants upload the translation with the copy of the original to the Saddleback Application Portal, after the email from the International Student Office (International student admission).

  • Other applicants send transcripts and their translations to Admissions & Records electronically, by mail or in person, once they have a student ID (Admissions & Records: transcripts).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Saddleback that means we translate and certify your records; if you prefer a credential evaluation instead, that comes from an evaluation agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

No. Without one you are admitted to the Intensive ESL program (International student admission).

I am not an F-1 student. Do my foreign transcripts need a translation?
