How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Prairie View A&M University requires international college transcripts to have a course-by-course evaluation by an approved service, such as The Evaluation Company, WES or ECE, before admission; it publishes no translation rule of its own.
PVAMU's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not produce.
PVAMU at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
PVAMU asks for a course-by-course evaluation by an approved service such as TEC, WES or ECE (international admissions), and WES accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES rule), as does ECE; TEC wants a translator certified by ATA. PVAMU requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; the evaluation service needs the translation of records not in English (International admissions).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation service; see below.
Evaluation
International college transcripts: course-by-course by an approved service, before admission (International admissions).
Services named
The Evaluation Company (formerly SpanTran), with a $20 discount link, WES and ECE, among others (International admissions).
Freshmen
Five passing grades on the GCE, CXC or West African School Certificate O-levels, and a minimum GPA of 3.2 (International admissions).
Where it goes
transferarticulation@pvamu.edu, or Undergraduate Admissions, P.O. Box 519, Mail Stop 1009, Prairie View, TX 77446 (International admissions).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, uploaded in your WES account, and does not accept translations by applicants.
ECE wants a complete, literal translation in the same format and lets applicants translate themselves; for $85 it translates internally for its report without giving you a translation.
The Evaluation Company, the one PVAMU discounts, asks that an outside translator be certified by the American Translators Association or translates in-house; for TEC, ask eVerbary for a free quote and say it is for TEC.
Transfers with college work abroad
PVAMU asks transfer applicants for official transcripts from every college attended, with a course-by-course evaluation for those outside the US, before an admission decision (International admissions).
The evaluation goes directly to the transfer articulation office, which uses it for credit.
Freshmen are admitted on O-level results such as the GCE, CXC or WASSCE, so a candidate from an English-speaking exam system may need no translation at all.
Need a certified translation for PVAMU?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- College or university transcripts, for the course-by-course evaluation
- Degree or diploma certificates
- Secondary school certificates and transcripts, if not in English
- Bank statement or employment letter, if not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to PVAMU
The translation goes to the evaluation service with your transcripts; the service sends the evaluation to transferarticulation@pvamu.edu or by mail to Undergraduate Admissions (International admissions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For PVAMU that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from TEC, WES, ECE or another approved service.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
