Polk says that translation may come from a certified translation service in the United States; Polk State College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

The formal evaluation itself is ordered by you from the agency; we do not provide it.

An evaluation for every foreign transcript, and a translation for the agency

Polk State's rule is broad: a transcript from another country must be evaluated by a foreign credentialing service even if it is already in English (International transcripts).

High school and college transcripts both need a formal evaluation, which you buy from an agency on the NACES list and which the agency sends to Polk.

If you already have an evaluation, you may submit it and Polk decides whether it is acceptable for admission.

When the transcript is not in English, a certified English translation must go to the evaluation agency too.

Polk suggests asking your agency about an official translation, and says the Ministry of Education in your home country or a certified translation service in the United States may also provide it (International transcripts).

Agencies set their own format rules; see translation for credential evaluation.

Course-by-course reports and the US accreditation exception

For a course-by-course evaluation, the agency needs both an official transcript from your college or university and an English translation; if your institution issues its transcript in English, you avoid paying for a translation (International transcripts).

One exception: if your school abroad is accredited by a body in the United States, you may send proof of that accreditation and an English copy of the transcript, and Polk will decide whether an evaluation is necessary. Questions go to registrar@polk.edu (International transcripts).

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Polk State

  • The certified translation is sent to the evaluation agency with your official transcript; the agency sends the evaluation report to Polk State College (International transcripts).

  • F-1 applicants complete the application by June 1 for fall or November 1 for spring, with the International Student Application, an Affidavit of Support and recent bank statements from each sponsor (International and visa students).

On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Polk State that means we translate your transcripts and diplomas; the formal evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Can I use an evaluation I already have?
