Requirements checked on October 27, 2026 from Ouachita's public pages (sources).

Ouachita Baptist University requires every foreign transcript that is not in English and on a 4.0 scale to be translated and evaluated for review, and names International Education Evaluations (IEE) and SpanTran, now The Evaluation Company, as its evaluators of choice.

Ouachita's evaluation agencies, such as IEE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; SpanTran asks for a translator individually certified by ATA, which eVerbary provides on request.

You order the translation first; the evaluation comes from the agency, not from us.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
  • Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
  • Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
  • Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

Ouachita names two agencies.

IEE wants translations from a certified translator, not from the applicant or a notary public, and generally accepts translations from a university or embassy in the home country; it also sells its own translations from $60 per page. A certified translation from eVerbary meets IEE's rule.

SpanTran, now The Evaluation Company, asks that an outside translator be certified by the American Translators Association; otherwise its own team translates after your evaluation application is complete.

If you choose SpanTran, eVerbary can assign a translator individually certified by ATA for the languages ATA certifies: ask for a free quote and say it is for The Evaluation Company and Ouachita.

High school records and timing

For admission, Ouachita reads transcripts that show at least three years of secondary-level work, and completed transcripts are required before you enroll (International admissions).

Translate every year of the high school record and the final diploma once it is issued; the agency needs the translation in hand before it can evaluate a document not in English.

Need a certified translation for Ouachita?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school transcripts, at least three years
  • High school diploma or leaving certificate
  • College transcripts, for transfer applicants
  • National exam results that complete secondary school

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Ouachita

  • The translation goes to IEE or SpanTran with your records; the agency's evaluation and your official transcripts reach Ouachita by mail or an electronic service (International admissions).

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Ouachita, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Ouachita that means we translate your transcripts for IEE or SpanTran; the evaluation is ordered by you from the agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, on request through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page). ATA certifies no other languages into English.
