How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Olympic College asks students who attended a college or university outside the US for transcripts submitted in English and a course-by-course evaluation from a listed foreign credential evaluation service; it does not say who must translate.
Olympic College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary, and its listed agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept them too. The evaluation itself comes from the agency, which we are not.

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Olympic's transfer credit page says all transcripts must be submitted in English, without naming a translator type (transfer credit evaluation), and WES, one of its listed agencies, accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES translation rules). Olympic College requirements in detail
Translation
All transcripts must be submitted in English (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation).
Who may translate
Not stated by Olympic; the evaluation agency sets its own rule.
Evaluation
Foreign college or university study: a course-by-course evaluation for academic purposes from a foreign credential evaluation service, mailed or emailed directly to Registration & Records (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation).
Agencies listed
ACEI, AICE, ECE, FIS, International Consultants of Delaware, IERF, Josef Silny & Associates and WES on the transfer credit page; ECE and WES on the foreign transcript page (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation, foreign transcripts).
Your own copy
At least an unofficial copy of the foreign transcript, by email, fax, mail or in person, so Olympic can compare it with the evaluation (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation).
Timing
Up to eight weeks once everything arrives; new students after the tenth instructional day of their first term (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation).
F-1 application
Transcripts from high school and any post-secondary institution attended (how to apply).
Agency report plus your own transcript
Olympic does not rely on the agency report alone: besides the official course-by-course evaluation, it asks for at least an unofficial copy of each transcript from outside the US, which it uses to compare your actual record with the evaluation (transfer credit evaluation).
Schools in US territories are exempt from the special procedure.
Once both are in, file a Transcript Evaluation Request; credits that have no exact match are posted with placeholder numbers, such as 900 for academic elective or 950 for natural science with lab.
Because Olympic says all transcripts must be submitted in English, the copy you send it needs a translation as well as the one the agency reads; the same certified translation serves both.
Which agencies, and what they ask for the translation
Olympic's two pages differ: the transfer credit page lists eight evaluation services, the foreign transcript page only ECE and WES (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation, Olympic College: foreign transcript evaluation).
ECE and WES appear on both. WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or service and does not accept translations by applicants.
ECE accepts complete, literal translations in the same format, including ones made by the applicant, or sells an $85 Translation Waiver. If you choose another agency from the longer list, ask Registration & Records first.

Documents applicants usually translate
- University or college transcripts from abroad
- Degree certificates
- High school transcripts and diploma, for the F-1 application
- Course descriptions, if the agency or Olympic asks for them
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Olympic College
F-1 applicants send transcripts from high school and any college with the international application (Olympic College: international student how to apply). eVerbary can also email the translation directly to the international office on request.
For credit, the agency mails or emails its evaluation to Olympic College Registration & Records, 1600 Chester Avenue, Bremerton; you send the translated unofficial transcript by email, fax, mail or in person, and submit the Transcript Evaluation Request form (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
At Olympic College that means the course-by-course evaluation comes from an agency such as WES or ECE; we translate the transcripts for the agency and for Olympic.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Olympic College require my transcripts in English?
Yes. All transcripts must be submitted in English (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation); Olympic does not say who must translate.
Which evaluation service should I use for Olympic College?
ECE or WES appear on both of Olympic's lists; the transfer credit page also names ACEI, AICE, FIS, ICD, IERF and Josef Silny (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation, Olympic College: foreign transcript evaluation).
Do I send my transcript to Olympic as well as to the agency?
Yes, at least an unofficial copy, which Olympic compares with the evaluation (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation).
When will my foreign credit be evaluated?
For new students, after the tenth instructional day of the term, and up to eight weeks after all documents arrive (Olympic College: transfer credit evaluation).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
