How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Northwestern Oklahoma State University requires every secondary, transfer and graduate transcript from outside the US to be evaluated by a NACES member, preferring Global Credential Evaluators, WES and Josef Silny; its only translation rule is for the bank statement, which must be in English and in US dollars.
NWOSU's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation itself is something we do not produce.

NWOSU requirements in detail
Translation
No transcript translation rule of its own; the evaluator needs it. Financial proof: an official bank letter or statement translated into English and in USD (International students).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency; see below.
Evaluation
All secondary, transfer and graduate transcripts from outside the US, by a company on the NACES list (International students).
Preferred agencies
Global Credential Evaluators, World Education Services and Josef Silny & Associates (International students).
Originals
Original and official documents are required on arrival, once you are accepted (International students).
English
Undergraduate TOEFL 61 or IELTS 5.5; graduate IELTS 6.5 (International students).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
The three preferred agencies differ. WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not translate itself.
GCE accepts translations from the issuing university, the Ministry of Education or a translator certified by ATA, and Josef Silny wants outside translators in the US to be ATA-certified; for those two, eVerbary can assign a translator individually certified by ATA on request.
Any other NACES member, such as ECE, which accepts a complete, literal translation, is also accepted.
Translate the bank statement too
NWOSU wants proof of liquid assets for the whole first year as an official letter on bank letterhead or an official bank statement translated into English and in USD (International students).
A translation keeps the amounts in the original currency, so ask the bank for a USD figure or a letter stating it. Immunization records are needed before NWOSU accepts the application or assigns housing.
Need a certified translation for NWOSU?

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to NWOSU
Transcript translations go to the NACES agency with your records; the agency sends the evaluation to NWOSU. Bank documents and their translations go to the International Student Office (International students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For NWOSU that means we translate your records and bank documents; the evaluation is ordered by you from GCE, WES, Josef Silny or another NACES member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does NWOSU require a translation or an evaluation?
An evaluation by a NACES member for every transcript from outside the US (International students); the agency asks for the translation.
Which agencies does NWOSU prefer?
GCE, WES and Josef Silny; any NACES member is accepted (International students).
Does my bank statement need a translation?
Yes: an official bank statement translated into English and in USD, or a bank letter (International students).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for GCE or Josef Silny?
Yes, on request through a free quote: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian at $34.95 per page, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian at $44.95. ATA certifies no other languages into English.
