Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from New Mexico Tech's public pages (sources).
New Mexico Tech requires international undergraduates to have all academic documents evaluated by World Education Services, a Document-by-Document report for high school applicants and a Comprehensive Course-by-Course report for college applicants, and its FAQ asks transfer applicants for official transcripts with certified English translations.
New Mexico Tech's evaluation agency, WES, accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You translate first and upload the translation to WES; the evaluation is something we do not produce.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Two WES reports, one translation
New Mexico Tech asks high school applicants for a WES Document-by-Document report and college applicants for a Comprehensive Course-by-Course report (International student admissions).
Its instructions add that secondary coursework must include four years in your native or national language and at least three years of mathematics, plus science and social science, which is what the WES report will show (application instructions).
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, in the same order as the original, and does not translate documents itself.
Transfer students: translations, WES and syllabi
The FAQ asks transfer applicants for an official transcript from each college attended, with certified English translations, showing a GPA of at least 2.0; all international transcripts go through WES course by course, and a catalog or syllabi with descriptions of each course you want credited go to International Programs (International undergraduate FAQ).
The registrar then decides which courses transfer. Translate the course descriptions you rely on as well as the transcripts.
Where New Mexico Tech's pages differ
The international admissions page lists a minimum TOEFL iBT of 79 (admissions page); the FAQ lists 76 (FAQ).
New Mexico Tech also reserves the right to ask for an advance deposit equal to one year of out-of-state tuition and fees, and international undergraduates cannot establish New Mexico residency (International student admissions; International undergraduate FAQ).

- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.

Uploading the translation to New Mexico Tech
Upload the translation with your documents in your WES account; WES sends its report and copies of your originals to New Mexico Tech (International student admissions). Course descriptions go directly to International Programs (International undergraduate FAQ).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For New Mexico Tech that means we translate your records and course descriptions; the WES report is ordered by you from WES.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
